Chapter 76: A three-year old in a six-year old's body

Carmella got used to the ship quickly and she didn't need Bilal's sedative to make her comfortable. The seats felt good and the ride was smooth. It was almost like sitting in a movie theater and watching the world move past them.

"What's that, Daddy?" Raj would point and Bilal would stop the ship and the windows would suddenly zoom in to the object. The first time it happened Carmella realized that the windows weren't actual windows but lenses. Bilal confirmed that from the outside no one could see inside the ship, just the smooth metallic-like finish would be visible.

"Those are horses," Bilal replied.

Carmella leaned forward and stared at a group of wild horses running across a field. They were so beautiful. Bilal kept them high in the air and that pleased Carmella. It didn't seem right to merge this alien technology with nature.

Mindful of his mate and child Bilal kept the pace slow and gave them an opportunity to see the world around them.
