27: Unconscious
Lara sucked on Noah's blood and swallowed it. The scarlet liquid tasted delicious on her tongue. She moaned and drank more.
While sitting on the couch, Noah's body relaxed. He closed his eyes and stroked her hair, his other hand gripping her hip as her fangs sunk deeper into his neck. "Drink as much as you want," Noah whispered.
Lara nodded, but did not remove her teeth from his neck.
Noah let out a sigh. This is the first time he has ever allowed a vampire to feed on him. He can only feel a little pain as Lara draws more blood from his veins. But nothing except contentment remained, and nothing else mattered. Only her.
Goddess!
Lara craved more of Noah's blood. She already has a strong desire for him. And Noah was aware of it. It made him happy to know she'd want to drink his blood again.
When Lara began whimpering on Noah's neck, he comforted her. She was attempting to maintain control. She didn't want to hurt him, but she's becoming addicted to it.
Her fingers pushed into Noah's shoulders, attempting to keep her hunger at bay. Or she'd never be able to stop drinking from him. She did not know someone like him existed. Someone with ambrosia-flavoured blood.
Lara had never drunk werewolf blood before, let alone a Tri-breed. With that kind of blood, he'll be the center of Velhellan attention. Vampires are like humans, including their adherence to the traditions and standards of their close-knit society. And with food, they'll always choose the most exquisite, unusual food and Noah was one of those things.
Lara could go on and on about Noah's blood and how it has opened her eyes to the world of desiring a specific flavour of blood. But she's becoming addicted to it. She'll drain him dry to the last drop if she doesn't think clearly enough to let him go.
But then something inside Lara's body went off. Her heart pounded like a drum. Lara's body was reacting to something, but she did not know what or who it was reacting to.
Lara's eyes blazed crimson for the first time. It startled her to see her ruby eyes staring back at her through the glass wall in front of her. She tried to stop, but a powerful force pulled her consciousness inside her head. Like a black hole. And it drew her in without giving her a chance to getaway.
The next thing Lara knew, she was in a dark place.
She couldn't see anything, yet the darkness felt familiar to her. It's as if she's been there before.
Lara remained motionless as she sensed a figure standing behind her. The presence was not threatening. She was certain it belonged to someone she knew.
The girl. The one with the same appearance as she does.
The one who resembled her, yet was totally different in several ways... especially in their temperament.
"How thoughtful of you to pay me a visit."
Lara turned around when she heard the voice and came face to face with the girl. She stilled.
The girl still had the same appearance. Her midnight black hair was still so long it dragged on the floor when she walked.
"I had a feeling you'd return..."
"What exactly am I doing here? Again?" Lara inquired, perplexed.
What exactly is this? It bewildered Lara as she gazed at her hands.
The girl circled Lara like a tiger around its prey, her displeasure visible on her face.
"You appear astonished. You didn't expect to be back here, did you?" She asked, her eyes narrowed, giving Lara shivers. "You thought last night was a dream, a hallucination, a figment of your imagination"
"I didn't think I'd be back here. I'm not even sure how I ended up here."
The girl fell silent.
"You're a jerk."
Taken aback, Lara raised a brow. "What? I'm a jerk? I simply told you the truth."
"You don't even know half of the truth." The girl countered, which piqued Lara's interest. What did she mean when she said that she didn't know the whole truth?
When the girl caught Lara's stare, she scowled. "What?"
"You know something..."
The girl didn't respond.
"What aren't you telling me?" Lara asked.
"Oh, I'm not telling you. You'll find the truth eventually and I will stay here and watch you suffer from it."

Lara's body became limp in Noah's arms, outside of her consciousness.
Surprised, Noah cradled Lara's unconscious body and tried to call her name. He sensed something was wrong. He tried to wake her up, but she won't respond.
"Lara?" He tried shaking her shoulders again, yet her eyelids never opened or twitched a little.
Her expression looked serene but lifeless. A doll that does not have its strings linked. Like she didn't have a soul.
Noah didn't waste any time in contacting the only person he can rely on in this situation.
"Hello?"
"Stef, please contact Carter. Tell him I'm on my way to his clinic right now."
"Huh? What? Why? What happened? Are you hurt?"
"No, it's not me. It's Lara."
"What?" Stefani stopped questioning him. "Okay, I'll contact Carter now." She said and the sound of rustling followed since she jumped out of bed and hurriedly prepared to leave.
"Thank you."
"Don't thank me just yet. I'm going to the clinic. And I'm going to barrage you with questions later on."
The call ended, and Noah sighed. He knew this was going to happen.
Noah gently gathered Lara in his arms, leaving the VIP room.
He ran across Lara's friends, stunned to witness their boss and their unconscious friend in his arms.
Noah stopped Rachel from questioning the situation by cutting her off. "She had too much to drink and passed out. It's late, and you guys seemed to be still enjoying yourself so I'll take her home."
"Oh," With that said, Rachel and Chance can't go against him. And truth be told, even though it's weird. Without a rational explanation why they just both felt like they can trust Noah with Lara's safety. And they already sensed something going on between the two. So as Lara's ever-supportive friends, they're now leaving in Noah's capable hands.
"Okay. Please text her to text us when she's awake."
"I will."
"Wait, a minute." Rachel stopped and made a run to pick up Lara's belongings in their VIP room.
"Here." She gave them over to Noah.
Noah left leaving behind the two who were watching his back as he leaves.
"She's going to be alright, right?" Rachel asked Chance, standing beside her.
"Y-yeah! She'll be fine. I think so..." He said.
