Chapter 18

As she got herself emotionally prepared to tell Fran the reason she lives in this city even with how the town folk treat outsiders. She is unable to control her body as has fear and despair in her eyes.

Hana: "As you know I've been in this town for 6 months but about 1 month before coming here something happened to the town that I lived in and it was all my fault."

Time goes back 7 months ago.

Hana is in the forest near her village looking for some fruit that only grows in this time of the year in the trees in this forest. She goes to her usual spot where the trees are filled with the fruit she is looking for. When she gets there she starts picking the fruit from the tree but as she does that she starts to hear noise coming from the direction to her right. From the sounds she was hearing she couldn't really tell what it was but the noises seemed to be getting closer to her as the sound started getting louder. As the sound quickly got louder she was able to make out what the sound she was hearing was wind, water, and lightning.

Hana: All those sounds can't mean anything good, the only explanation for these sounds would be magic because nothing else can cause so much noise in the middle of nowhere. Which means there's a fight going on and heading in my direction or maybe it's just some sort of training? Either way just to be safe I need to get out of here before I get caught up in this.

Hana dropped her bag that contained the fruit and started sprinting away from the sounds of danger approaching her but it was a futile struggle delaying the inevitable as the sounds only got louder. She turned her head back and saw the destruction that they have caused to the forest, still unable to see the ones responsible for this mess she continues to run out of fear for her life. The forest only getting more destroyed as the fight prolonged naturally meaning that the trees that covered for Hana lessened which meant the attacks that were once blocked were making their way to her with nothing to stop them. Hana noticing that she started to pay closer attention to the sounds to see if the attacks were coming towards her and then she hears electricity coming from behind her. She is able to move in time to dodge it from hitting anything fatal but it grazes her arm causing it to learn a burn mark.

Hana: !! If this doesn't stop I'm dead who are the ones fighting anyways can't they be considerate and not involve others in their fight! I'm scared for my life over here!

After getting grazed by that attack she quickly turns her head to see if she can spot the one responsible for this and that's when she sees them it's a man that appears to be in his early twenties while the other is not human. It looked similar to a panther but it couldn't be one since it was using lightning magic which means it would have to be a magic beast or magic spirit either way it wasn't good news for Hana since it didn't look like it was looking for a treat. With the trees out of the way now the man noticed Hana as well.

Man: "If there's someone here does that mean I'm close to a town or village? It seems like I haven't run out of luck just yet god must be looking after me."

The man was sweating heavily and breathing hard gasping for air exhausted from his battle with the panther-like opponent he was facing. The panther didn't pay attention to Hana, only to the man in front of him growling at him. The one to move was the man using his wind magic to increase his speed and launch himself towards the panther. As he comes near he also creates a lance with rotating water at the tip out of water as he approaches the panther. The panther responds by shooting lightning from his mouth towards him but the man tries to cancel it out by quickly making a shield of water but that wasn't enough to stop the full attack. The man takes a hit to his left arm causing it to become immovable but he fights back the pain he couldn't stop mid attack or it would be a wasted opportunity. The panther starts to run to the left to avoid the man.

Man: "Don't even think about running away after taking my arm out!"

He changes his direction towards the running panther with his wind magic but this time he put more magic into it causing him to go even faster than before. Naturally this meant he was straining himself more than before and he was starting to near his limits in his legs as he was losing strength in them and losing sensation in them. But the panther tries to move around but the man won't let him get away until he finally gets him. The panther running out of options runs towards Hana since it noticed the man eyeing her when she appeared in an act of desperation they go after her. If by any chance he knows her, needs her or out of the kindness of his heart he will try to save her.

Man: I knew this would happen they are going after that woman. I can't let it take her out. She doesn't deserve that to happen to her when she wasn't even involved in this. She could be a good person so I can't simply ignore her. This just shows how truly evil they are involving the innocent, nothing less from the Devil's creations. But can I still save her? I don't have much more magic left after all this fighting. I gotta end this soon if I want to save her and win as well.

In order to save magic the man disposes of his lance since it consumed his magic because he had the tip moving like a drill. He puts all his strength into his wind magic coming from the soles of his feet.

Man: "Don't give up on me now."

The man is catching up to the panther quickly but the panther is about to catch up to Hana as well.

As Hana saw the panther come after her and get closer at a fast pace her thoughts went wild only thinking of survival.

Hana: "Run run run run run run run run run run even if I have no energy left just keep running legs of mine I don't want to die."

Hana is scared as the panther is hot on her tail about to get to her. The panther is now within range of Hana to get her so it pours magic into its fangs which made its fangs covered with lightning magic as it widened its mouth and jumped towards her.

Hana: "AAAAAH!"

Man: "Just in time."

The man grinned as he made it just in time to block the panthers attack but he sacrificed his other arm as he was unable to shield himself with magic as he saved everything else he had left to make his final attack.

Man: "You're not packing as much of a punch as before. You finally ran out of steam."

The man unleashes all the magic he had left out of his mouth as water magic. He gets a close and direct shot at the panther causing it to be blown away from the force. Causing the panther to get a hole in its stomach but the panther slowly started to vanish into thin air leaving nothing behind.
