I don't get why authors always cares about the plot. If you care about the plot don't do fanfic read the original, if you follow plot what is the purpose of your mc he is just an additional unnamed side character with no real purpose.

It's good so far, but hope that author wouldn't forget that the emperor abilities is not just sage body ,vital energy manipulation and four foundational force control.. But he also have lots of small stuff that not flashy but still available like his super intelligence that could make him analyse most martial art in a beat and copy or even improve it. That just one of the way he use his mind. He also have lots of abilities that surpass humanity like his eye that could discern even better than sharingan!!! But owh well, hope author would really use Al ltge stuff sage emperor have and use it all. Don't Nerf the OP grandpa power...

I is fine so far, now don't just make the mc the puppy of Asta, I get you like him but please keep it in check. And don't hesitate to make the mc op, you might think it will ruin the story but you can make it so that the mc fights opponents few levels higher than him that will make for good fight. And try adding a tiny bit of slice of life in it too as you said yourself that you don't like stupid harems so showing the interaction among the characters is important.
