"How could a Venusaur be that powerful? How does that make sense?", asked Hymer with anger.
"I also don't know. I have not seen Axel for a long time now. I don't think that there is even a scratch on that Venusaur and it has very good controlling abilities.", commented Lyra.
"Yes, that is not normal. That Venusaur would be something special. I have seen other Pokemons of Axel and none of them are as broken as Venusaur. Is there some special technique of Venu family that they could use?", asked Hymer.
"I think that would be impossible. K is also from the Venu family and I have not seen anything like that from his Venusaur. Yes, it is powerful and is more powerful than normal Venusaur but that is it.", said Lyra.
"You are right. I want to know how did it become so powerful.", said Hymer.
"Why don't we just ask Axel about it?", asked Lyra knowing the personality of Axel. He might even say how he did it but she also knew that it might be able to be replicated.
"Axel is not so foolish."
###
Other trainers from the gang were also discussing Venusaur. They had seen it fight but most of the time, it was only using 'Aromatherapy' and other healing moves. They had not seen it fight properly and they were surprised to see how resilient it really was.
If Axel had not purposely stopped Venusaur from advancing, then it might be a king-rank Pokemon right now. He had taken his time on Venusaur and it had developed very well.
###
The second day came and, Salamence met with Gengar after some rounds. This was going to be an interesting battle as Gengar was also very good. The battle was interesting but Salamence won at the end. It was not even that tired. This showed the power of Salamence.
Arcanine and Ninetales of Arron and Cerlin were already out of the competition. They were far weaker than other Pokemons. Rampardos had to fight with Sceptile and it lost in a horrible way. Rampardos was a rock-type Pokemon and it was weak against grass type. Sceptile took advantage of it and took the win very easily.
Venusaur had to fight with many powerful Pokemons like Volcarona of Kate and Gyarados of Lance. But it was able to win against all of them. This surprised all of the trainers and the crowd. Especially the fight against Volcarona. Volcarona was a bug/fire type Pokemon and it had fire fire-type core.
So, naturally, everyone thought that Venusaur was going to lose and even if it did win, it would be a difficult win. However, Venusaur won that fight with ease.
This happened due to its hidden ability 'Chlorophyll'. This hidden ability would raise Venusaur's speed during sunshine but also increase the defense against fire-type moves.
The move was 100% in mastery when the fight started and during the fight…
---
Ding!
Venusaur's hidden ability Chlorophyll has been mastered. Now, the special defense against fire-type moves has increased and it would also defend against physical fire-type moves.
---
Before it could only defend against special type fire moves but now it could also defend against physical type fire moves. Volcarona mostly used special type moves as its speed was not very high.
Finally, it came down to 4 pseudo-king rank Pokemons.
1. Venusaur
2. Salamence
3. Aggron
4. Sceptile.
"I would again like to welcome another one from the crowd to do the honors.", said Agnes, and one man was picked up from the crowd.
Finally, the battle sequence was decided. It was,
1. Salamence Vs Aggron
2. Venusaur Vs Sceptile.
There were 2 Pokemons of Hymer and Hymer was very proud of it. Even Axel who was considered the most talented trainer only had 1 Pokemon in the quarter-finals.
The first battle was between Salamence and Aggron. Axel also called out Shelgon to see the battle. He wanted it to learn how a Salamence would fight.
The battle started with a bang. Both of them didn't hold anything and attacked with the strongest moves. Aggron was heavier and it also had high defense. It also had good attack power. So, it played its role perfectly. However, Salamence was also giving its best.
The battle lasted for 10 minutes. 10 minutes was a huge time for a battle and for pseudo-king rank Pokemons. Both of them had good stamina and defense.
Salamence was a pseudo-king rank Pokemon and also a dragon-type Pokemon but Aggron was a beast. It was really a monster. When the battle reached a critical point, something amazing happened.
Salamence started to glow in blue light. It was ranking up in the middle of the battle. Everyone was surprised to see the show. This was a dragon-type Pokemon and a king rank dragon type Pokemons were very strong.
The battle ended shortly after Salamence ranked up as Aggron had too many injuries. It immediately surrendered.
"Let's me first congratulate Salamence and its trainer Lance to rank up to king rank. Raking up to king rank is always a big deal. This shows that a Pokemon has reached a high degree of power. Now, we all know what we should do about it.
The finals of the pseudo-king rank will also be held at last just like with Crobat and Tyranitar."
###
Venusaur and Sceptile were now ready to fight. Both of them had grass-type core. Everyone had seen their previous fight. Venusaur had good healing abilities and Sceptile was fast. Sceptile focused on physical moves while Venusaur focused on special type moves.
"So, who do you think is going to on?", asked Kate. She was interested in this fight.
"Venusaur for sure.", replied Lance.
"How are you that sure?", asked Lyra.
"I have seen Venusaur fight before. I have never seen it fight seriously. If that Venusaur became serious, then I believe that it would definitely win."
"So, Venusaur is that good huh?", asked Hymer this time. Since his Sceptile was fighting against it, he wanted to know.
"Yes, Venusaur is that good. Your Sceptile won't even have a chance.", said Lance with confidence.
Lance had seen a lot of impossible things and most of them were done by Axel. So, he was sure of it.
"My Sceptile is also a powerful Pokemon. It is might second-best Pokemon after my Blastoise. So, it will win!!"
"Yes, Lance, I know that Axel is a good trainer and Venusaur also seems to have considerable power. However, I also don't see how could Sceptile lose this battle.", said Lyra.
She was the only one who saw and observed both of them. So, her words had some value in it. Axel looked at Hymer and Lyra and then at others and gave a small laugh.
This aggregated Hymer.
"What? You think that my Sceptile cannot win against your Venusaur?", asked Hymer with an irritated voice.
Everyone looked towards both of them. Hymer was already angry cause his Aggron had lost and now Axel was laughing at him and his Pokemons.
To be honest, Axel didn't want to laugh and humiliate Hymer. It was a reflex that he could not control. Venusaur had been trained with the thought that it would be the second Hashirama Senju. It also had the locket of Celibi that boosted its stats in every rank up.
There were also a lot of new moves and many healing moves that Venusaur had not shown in battle. How could it lose against Sceptile who had the same rank as Venusaur? It just seemed ridiculous.
###
Both of them came to the stage. They were ready to fight. Axel became curious about this Sceptile and then looked at its stats.

That was a lot of moves for pseudo-king rank Pokemon. Axel also noticed that there were 4 new moves. This Sceptile was really talented. So, would it be able to beat Venusaur? Of course not.
The battle started with Venusaur using 'Sunny day' and Sceptile using 'Dragon dance'. Venusaur then used 'Razor leaf' and Sceptile used 'Leaf storm'.
They were just exchanging their moves and Sceptile was winning it. Sceptile started to use 'Leaf blade' which was an effective move and then it used 'Aerial ace' and it connected. Now, Venusaur was weak to flying-type moves.
If one were to look at the battle then Sceptile was winning it. It had also accumulated some injuries but its injuries were far less than Venusaur's. After 'Aerial ace' connected, Venusaur started to get serious.
It used 'Vine whip' and 4 whips of grass came out of the ground and all of them bound Sceptile. ''Sunny day' was already on with 2 suns. So, Venusaur used 'Solar beam'. 2 yellow beams of light came, and then both of them hit Sceptile. As Sceptile was bounded by those whips, it could not dodge the attack.
It was a grass-type move and Sceptile being a grass-type Pokemon had some resistance to it. But it also must be understood that 2 'Solar beam' were one of the most powerful attacks of Venusaur. It was a level 59 move and this move did affect Sceptile.
Since the power of the move was huge, the vines could not heal it and it was flown into the air and it crashed on the ground.
Everyone was looking at the scene with their eyes and ears raised. They knew that if a Pokemon could train hard enough, they could modify the move but this was too much. 2 suns and 2 beams of light. That was an overpowered move. Naturally, Axel was confident in his Pokemon.
Venusaur then used 'Leech seed' and one seed came and connected with Sceptile. Now, Leech seed could not affect and leech life from a grass-type Pokemon but the seed would spread out and then cover the whole body of Sceptile which was a bonus.
However,
---
Ding!
Leech seed has leveled up to 45. It could now affect grass-type Pokemon too. But the power of the move would be reduced to 50%
---
Axel could not believe the bad luck of Hymer and Sceptile. It was just hilarious.
The seed grew and bound Sceptile and it became difficult for it to move. It was trying to get that seed out but if taking that seed out was so easy, then it would not be called 'Leech seed'.
Suddenly, it felt a shock from that seed and Venusaur's body glowed in green light as it started to heal. It amount of Hp that it gathered was negligible but it was still better than nothing.
After seeing this scene, everyone was surprised. Specially, Hymer.
"When can a 'Leech seed' affect a grass type Pokemon?", asked Hymer.
"This move must also be modified like the previous two.", commented Lyra.
Nobody spoke anything. Modifying a move was a very challenging thing to do and Venusaur, not only modified one move but 3 moves. Was Venusaur a talented Pokemon or was Axel a good trainer? Or was it both?
As Sceptile was getting over the 'Leech seed', Venusaur used 'Synthesis' and recovered a lot.
Sceptile then gave a huge roar and a short blast of green energy came from its body. The 'Leech seed' was suddenly thrown off and then it a green aura covered Sceptile. Sceptile looked very deadly after it used this new move. This move must be 'Grassy aura'.
