Three Fruit Tree

"Hello everybody, I am your host today. My name is Edmun Drage. Since everybody had seated, I will start the auction with our opening item." An Old Man with white hair and white mustache stood on the stage gracefully, started the auction.

The auction was at 8 p.m., and we arrived thirty minutes early. Before we came, Starisk took me to a human tailor with a great attitude towards other races. Because of that, he was working in the black market. His clothes, though, were a piece of art.

Feeling fabulous with great clothes and a luxury car, even though normally not into showing off my wealth, I understood what Starisk meant.

Guards haven't prevented us from entering, and we were accompanied to our seats by a nice human hostess. After waiting for thirty minutes, the auction has started.

"For our first item, we will bring something that will blow your minds!" The Old Man Edmun said. He pointed at a tray with an item on top it, covered under a silk sheet. A hostess came with hells and removed the sheet. Underneath it, there was a core. What core it was, I didn't know.

I could feel the core was beckoning me to the prostate in front of it. As if the core was the only cause and goal for my existence, but the feeling was mild. To my surprise, though, other people started to rose from their seats and were about to walk towards to stage. The same hostess covered the tray skillfully, and then people came back to themselves.

"Sorry for the inconvenience, but we had to show you the product. As you may already felt, the core is Level 30 Succubus core with Charm Element." Old man Edmun said and waited for it to sink.

"What, a level 30 core?"

"And Succubus core with Charm skill!"

"Is this real?"

"Stop spouting bullshit, haven't you feel it already? I saw how you charmed by it."

"I did not! I was walking to take a closer look!"

People in the auditorium started to argue between themselves, but Old man Edmun knocked on the table three times with the hammer. "Please listen to this old man," he said and looked around. Despite his age, I could feel a sharp aura around him. "The price of the core is 10 Rare cores. Every increase should be 1 Rare Core. You may begin."

"11 cores!"

"15 cores!"

"20 cores!"

'It is already above what I can afford.' I mused and watched silently. It was a level 30 Core. Even in the market it would worth at least 30 Rare Core without omitting its element. 'The charm element is an Epic element, so the price should be around 300 Rare Cores in the market, in the auction it will reach more than that.'

'And a core belongs to a sentient race appearing in the auction is not surprising at all. After all these discriminations, I wouldn't be surprised if they were to sell slaves in here.'

Soon the price reached a few hundred, and I stopped listening. I didn't have the charm element, but the element itself awoke some memories in my mind. 'If I concoct those pills, can I sell them at an extravagant price? I will try them.'

"Going once, going twice, sold! The gentleman at seat 3 bought the Charm Core with 600 Rare Cores. Congratulations." Old man Edmur said, pointing at the handsome man at the forefront.

"Our next item is ..."

The next few items were cores and some pills with low efficiency, some weapons, and some tools. I just take note of pill prices and crosscheck them with the memories I acquired.

"Our next item is a little peculiar." Old man Edmur said, and a hostess brought another tray to the stage. She covered the silk sheet and under was a plant with three fruits.

"Because we don't know what it is."

'Three element tree!'

Old man Edmur spoke as soon as I recognized the item. Three element tree is a special plant that grows in extreme conditions. It is as rare as a double awakening person with a combo element because it is exactly what it is. The plant grows three fruits before it withers, and fruits cannot be used unless mana washed by a combo element feeds it.

When mana feeds into, each fruit will take one element, and they will ripen. A pill concocted by mixing these three fruits with some other ingredients is substantial to anyone with Combo Element. Not only it will increase my experience by giving me a lot of insight on how my elements work, it will even awaken skills I may not come upon at all.

"We initially discovered two of these plants, but when we tried to remove the fruits, the tree and fruits withered. So, we are selling this last one. Because we don't know what it is or how valuable it is, the opening price is 0! But unlike other items in the auction, we have a minimum amount for the item, and if it does not pass 100 uncommon cores, we will not sell it."

There was silence in the big auditorium. No one knew what the plant was, and no one was willing to waste their hard-earned coins on a plant can only wither. After not hearing a single bid from anyone, the Old Man Edmun was about to switch to another item, I rose from my seat calmly.

"Since no one else wants it, I will take it for academic purposes. It is not every day you come upon a rare plant. 10 Rare beast cores." I said 'calmly,' but inside I was sweating profusely. 'Please no one else bids, please.'

Lucky for me, all the other people in the auction house was watching me like looking an idiot, and couldn't bother to outbid me lest the worthless plant falls into their laps.

"Well then, I will sell it to this young man. Going once, going twice, Sold!"
