Punishment

Onicent summoned all his siblings to come to the castle, and quickly they showed up. Serse looked sweetly confused, Alora looked resentful. Dauntice and Farren's two children came too, but they lingered behind their parents. Onicent sat down on his throne, Airabella was holding Feia close to her and casting glares at the arrivals. Once everyone had settled down into their seats Onicent began to speak.

"Tonight, while my daughter was in the forest she was attacked by humans." He motioned toward Airabella, who only drew Feia closer. All eyes were on the pair, and Feia's new veil. Their expressions ranged from curiosity to disgust.

"There must have been a mistake," Serse said quietly. A low growl escaped Airabella's lips, which silenced Serse quickly.

"What do you purpose as punishment?" Alora said, she had a guarded look, and her eyes kept darting away from Onicent.

"The humans need a reminder of our power, they shall not be safe anymore." Onicent created a wooden box with a lid. Each sibling purposed something different to punish the humans with. Airabella created a skinny green creature, this creature would mean that no human was safe outside, when it got close it would blow up the surrounding area, she felt this was fair. Dauntice and Onicent created a green version of a human, they claimed it would pursue the human like the humans had pursued Feia, and when the creature caught them it would tear them to ribbons. Alora and Serse hung back from adding anything, though the others insisted. So Alora created a tiny white fish like creature which was more of an annoyance then harmful. She claimed it would dwell in the very stone of the world, jumping out just when the humans believed they were safe.

Finally it was down to just Serse, Serse was not blood thirsty, she secretly suspected something more had happened here, and hated to punish all the humans for the crimes of few. So she created something invisible and added it to the box, Airabella scoffed at her slightly, claiming she wasn't properly avenging her daughter, but the others silenced her.

"Who shall take the box to the village?" Onicent said at last.

The gods and goddess's shifted slightly. Airabella said such a task was above her, and besides she needed to care for Feia. Onicent echoed her. Alora looked down at her feet, and no one pressured Serse. Farren couldn't go for she looked like she did before and she might have been recognized.

"I will," Sonnis emerged from the back. Sonnis had a balance of her mother and father's features, she had a regal look but her face was slightly pinched. Her hair was bunched up at the sides of her head, and was coiled. "I will go in the evening, dressed in a hooded robe. They won't know what I am."

Farren looked nervous but before she could object Dauntice said, "she will go and complete the task."

Onicent nodded.
