Corporate Takedown

Captain Cold:

I fire my cold gun, freezing and trapping the beta in a block of ice. Its creepy bright-red eyes going dark, the betas standing behind raising their hands.

Ivy pushing herself up, she starts screaming at me but when I point behind her, she shuts up.

"Betas? What-How did they get in here? They weren't here before?"

"I don't know," I reply, "And I really don't care. Do something! Summon a man-eating plant or a vine and use it as a whip! Just do something!"

"You can't tell me what to do," Ivy shrieks.

"Then hurry and die for all I care!"

The betas advance toward us, I shove Ivy aside and freeze two more of them. However, switching to a third target, that beta fires the grapple in its palm and hits my hand. I scream and drop my cold gun. The grapple slithers back into the beta's palm, the beta now aims it at me.

I watch in slow motion as the grapple fires out, the sharp, black, tip inching closer and closer to my eyes. About to poke it out, a vine wraps around the beta's wrist and pulls both the hand and the grapple out of the way.

"You owe me," Ivy says, the beta falling in front of her. Stomping and crushing its head, she turns to face the rest of the squad.

"Five minutes ago, I saved you from betas. Call it even?"

"Fine."

I reach over to grab my cold gun. I then aim down the iron sight on top and fire.

The two of us destroy the betas, nothing more than torn wires and popsicles. By the time we're done with them, we exit the filing room.

"You get the feeling that that room was a trap," Ivy asks, the sound of betas stomping around almost drowning her out.

"Oh yeah," I reply, peeking around a corner to see a squad walk toward us. Pushing Ivy back, we hide behind another corner and watch as the squad passes us. "There goes the element of surprise."

"Like we ever really had it."

I roll my eyes and look around some more.

"If the stuff we need isn't in there," I ask, "Then where the hell is it?"

"Down the hallway, past the second right," someone answers.

"What? Uh? Who the hell was that?"

"Higgin," Higgin answers. "Name's Higgin, and I can help you two. I've already helped Catwoman and Harleen. Well, kind of. Listen, the data you two are looking for is down the hallway, past the second right. Move now. There are betas incoming."

"Wait," Ivy says, stopping and pulling me down. "Who are you? Where are you? How can we hear you?"

"Again, my name is Higgin. I'm a hacker friend with the man in sunglasses. I'm not entirely sure where I am right now, but I think it's another hidden base."

"Sunglasses had another hidden base," I ask.

"I don't know. I don't even know the guy's name. Listen, I'm speaking through Mr. Snart's suit, the fancy excell-something suit, and I am here to help. You have to listen to me."

"I'm already listening to one creepy son of bitch," I say. "Why would I listen to another?"

"Because according to the security cameras, there are betas coming up behind you!"

We turn around in time to see a squad of betas enter the same hallway as us. The second they see us, their eyes go red and they simultaneously lift their palms.

Catwoman:

I watch as Harleen runs toward Cyborg, a giant hammer in her hands. Raising it high above her head, she's about to swing it down but before she can, Cyborg fires his arm cannon and hits her. Harleen screams as she drops her weapon and is sent back into a wall.

"Harleen," I scream, running to her but Cyborg cuts me off.

"One down," he says, stomping toward me. "One to go."

Cyborg shoots out his fist, his regular-size fist growing to the size of a bus. I jump out of the way in time for Cyborg to hit the wall instead, destroying it completely and disappearing into a cloud of dust.

My eyes on the dust, I manage to dodge under a blast from Cyborg's arm cannon as it shoots out. Having to dodge a few more, Cyborg himself screams as he runs out of the dust. His fist pulls back, he leaps into the air and punches me, knocking me to the floor.

Kicking him off of me, I roll away and back onto my feet.

"Let's see how you do against these guys," I say, opening my hand. "Cat guards!"

Small black boxes shooting from the suit into my hand, I drop them on the ground and step on them. The same three robotic cats appear in a cloud of smoke, they hiss the second they see Cyborg.

"What the hel-," he says before I cut him off.

"Don't finish that sentence," I scream, "It's rude to swear in front of a lady. Now, get him!"

My cats hissing, they all charge toward Cyborg, their tails growing longer and wrapping around his hands. They tie him down while I run toward him, jumping and kicking him.

Poison Ivy:

The grapples in the betas' hands shooting out, Snart pulls me back and fires his gun at the ground. Ice forming where he fires, he raises his hand and the ice follows after him. The betas' grapples hitting the ice wall, Snart lends out and freezes them.

Trapped in ice, Snart messes with some sort of dial on the side of his cold gun and fires again. Instead of ice, however, it seems to be some sort of "air-sound blast" that shatters the betas, ice and metals flying everywhere.

"Since when can you cold gun do that," I ask.

"Since this isn't mine," Snart replies, messing with the dial again.

"Do you two want to listen to me now," Higgin asks, "Or would you rather keep playing 'Guess Where'?"

"Here's a game we can play," Snart yells into his suit. "Tell me where you are right now so I can freeze you."

"I'll tell you later. Listen, the information you two need to find is down the hallway, past the second right. Go there right now."

Despite wearing some goggles, I can still see Snart roll his eyes. Doing as Higgin said, we run down the hallway and turn on the third right. Stopping when we come to a steel vault door, we look at each other.

"What the hell," Snart says. "I don't spend much time in office buildings, but giant-ass vault doors aren't a common thing. Are they?"

"I don't know," I reply. "I'm a hippie. Remember?"

"Oh yeah, you are."

"Captain Cold," Higgin says, "Just put your hand on the keypad next to the door and leave the rest to me."

Once again, seeing Snart roll his eyes, he did as Higgin said. Placing his hand on the keypad, blue wires on Snart's come to life and move from Snart's suit to the keypad.

"Is this weird for anyone else or just me?"

"No. This is kind of weird for me too."

"Okay."

A ding coming from the keypad, the vault opens. Grabbing and pushing it open, Snart motions for me to enter. However, as I walk past him, he screams and falls to the floor.

"Snart," I yell, looking up to see Nightwing standing above him, his batons crackling with power. "Nightwing."

"Poison Ivy," Nightwing says. "Prepare to die."

"No," I scream, getting up and spreading out my hands. "I'm not going to die. You are. You and every single One Earth soldier in this building!"

I focus on the plants, on the roots nearby. I hear them come to life, the roots bursting through the street and rushing to my aid. I order them to wrap around Wayne Tower and bring it down.
