Isn't Odin capable to seeing everything that happens in asgard even in his sleep? He could even see the moment where thor "died" on earth by the destroyer, wich led him to shed a tear. Unless you have truly puted him to sleep this time, we will have a piss off god-king who is capable of fighting celestials after the MC's ass. Anyways, i really hope he can lear some asgardian rune magic. They are OP.

Odin may be more powerful then Thor but Thor has more potential then Odin seeing how Thor is the son of Odin and a mutant who was at that time the Avatar of the Phoenix Force, so it would be better to take both bloods from Odin and Thor. Asgardian/Mutant Hybrid Physiology: While Thor was for a long time purported to be biologically half-Asgardian on his father's side and half-Elder God on his mother's side; he is in truth half-Asgardian and half mutant, with his birth mother also being an avatar of the cosmic entity known as the Phoenix Force. As such Thor possesses a number of superhuman attributes common among the Asgardian and other gods. However, due to his unique birth, some are considerably more developed than those of the vast majority of his race, including his strength, endurance and resistance to injury.
