Chapter 83: Resolution and [Spoiler]

"Eri..."

Shido turned towards Eri. He knew that Eri had not rested for the entire day and had run around all day long just to find him.

She was sweating all over, had dirt on her face, and was panting hard.

"Shi...hah...Shido...I finally...hah...found you..." Eri smiled before closing her eyes and fainted on the spot.

Shido immediately got up and carried her before she could faint to the ground. He didn't care about her being dirty and just laid her down on his lap next to him as he sat back down underneath the tree.

He gently wiped her face, removing all the dirt and sweat, together Yoshinon's help with producing some water. While he was doing so, Eri's face revealed a smile as she felt the familiar hand and warmth.

"Yoshinon...I have decided..." Shido quietly said, fearing that Eri would be woken up by the noise.

"To...?"

"To live my life the way I want to."

"Oh?" Yoshinon was surprised. Just a few hours ago, Shido was unsure about himself and his future road. But after one good rest, he actually managed to find a goal for himself?

"What made you have this decision?"

"The dream I just had was different." Shido raised his hands towards the sky and looked up, "A shadow managed to communicate with me."

"Communicate?!" Yoshinon felt weird about this 'dream' of his and wanted to find out more about it. Though it didn't seem to do him any harm, for now, it might not remain the same in the future.

"Well, when I say 'communicate', it was more of a one-sided conversation." Shido smiled wryly at the memory of him trying to communicate with the shadow desperately, only to no avail.

"Then...what did he say?" Yoshinon asked curiously.

"He said that my family would always love me."

"Huh?"

"What?"

"So you're basing your future based on that sentence alone?" Yoshinon asked incredulously.

"Why not?"

Yoshinon had never wanted to smack this guy's head more than now.

"I don't trust him."

"Well, that's because you haven't met him. But I did, and my instincts tell me that I can trust him." Shido let out a bright smile.

Yoshinon wanted to continue retorting, but he decided to leave it when he saw Shido smiling happily. To him, as long as Shido was happy, it was all that mattered. But he had one more question.

"Why?"

"I don't know why. I just felt like I could trust him with all my being. That even if he pointed a gun at my head, I wouldn't have anything to worry about." Shido thought with a weird expression and faced Yoshinon, "Am I weird?"

Without any hesitation, the puppet replied, "Yes. But since you have that feeling, I'll just let you do whatever you want as long as you're happy."

"Thanks, Yoshinon, for accompanying me these past few years." Shido thanked him sincerely.

Yoshinon grunted in reply, "We'll be together forever. There's no need for thanks."

Shido smiled, "You're right."

Without having anything to talk about, the duo fell silent and just enjoyed the salty ocean wind blowing against their faces.

Not long after, Eri's body trembled a little before her eyes slowly opened.

"Shido...?"

The first thing that came out of her mouth was Shido's name, which made his heart a little warm.

"Did you have a nice sleep, little princess?" Shido asked with a teasing smile.

Eri didn't shy away and replied with a teasing smile of her own, "Of course, my prince."

Yoshinon, who was in between them, felt annoyed at this blatant show of affection in front of him.

"Can both of you not flirt in front of me?"

""No."" Both Eri and Shido replied simultaneously, causing both of them to giggle while Yoshinon just grumbled.

They soon fell back to their original silence as Eri continued lying on Shido's lap while his hand gently caressed her head.

"Ne...Shido...is it true that you're not from this world...?" Eri asked carefully, but if you heard her closely, you would notice that her voice trembled slightly.

[A/N: Honestly, I don't know why people accept people who come from other worlds so quickly. I mean, if there were aliens that descended on Earth, you would definitely ostracise them as well, and would take some time before actually accepting them.]

"Yes." Shido didn't want to lie to her, so he answered honestly, but his hand stopped caressing her head.

"Will you leave someday?"

"Yes."

Eri trembled slightly before facing upwards and looked directly into Shido's eyes, who was looking down to meet her's.

"Let me rephrase the question. Will you leave me someday?"

"This..." Shido felt his shirt being grabbed by Eri's hands, "Do you want me to leave you?"

"...no..." Eri replied, barely a whisper, but Shido heard her clearly.

"Please don't leave me alone..."

Shido felt his shirt being pulled even harder, and she buried her head into his stomach.

"I have no one else, Shido...so please..."

"Don't leave me..."

"Please..."

Eri begged softly, and Shido could feel his shirt getting wet from her tears.

"Do you not fear me? I'm an alien, you know?"

"I don't care. Shido will always be Shido to me. I will accept you the way you are. I don't care if you're a monster; I don't care if you're a demon. Just promise me..."

"...don't leave me alone anymore..."

Shido was stunned at her words before he recovered and smiled.

"Thank you, Eri. I promise you..."

"Thank...you..."

Eri's entire body relaxed at his words before she eventually fell asleep again.

"It's time to go home."

Shido stood up and moved her body to his back, piggybacking her. His hands wrapped around her thighs and lifted her up while her hands instinctively wrapped around his neck and her chin rested on his shoulder.

Yoshinon had observed the entire situation before eventually spoke up, "All's well that ends well. At least when we leave this world, you will have your own little girlfriend to accompany you."

"Well, you can ask the rabbit hero to join us if you want." Shido grinned and told Yoshinon.

Despite being a puppet, Yoshinon managed to shiver and tremble in fright at the mention of her.

"Don't bother. She's too violent for me."

"And she might not like having a puppet as her partner as well."

"Hey! No one wouldn't like me as a partner. I'm cute, strong, and huggable. What else do they want from a perfect being like me?"

Shido became speechless when he heard his puppet praising himself so enthusiastically. Even as an idol, his face was not thick enough to glorify himself to that extent.

But Shido didn't mind it. He was in an excellent mood now that his internal debate, insecurities, and worries have vanished into thin air.

But he knew that it was thanks to three people. The shadow, Yoshinon, and lastly, the girl he loved, not as a family, but as the opposite sex, Eri.

'It was too young to fall in love', some people might say, but Shido didn't care. 'Time' was a concept that he knows too well.

""I'm home."" Shido and Yoshinon called out as they entered his house.

The moment he called out, two figures immediately dashed in front of Shido and tried to give him a hug.

However, Shido was carrying Eri on his back, so he obviously would not let them hug him in fear of waking up Eri.

Taking a single step back, he managed to dodge the figures' hug and not wake Eri up.

"Phew.." Shido was relieved that Eri didn't wake up and stared at the two figures.

Before he could say anything else, however, the shorter figure immediately bowed ninety degrees and said, "I'm so sorry, Shido! I didn't mean what I said earlier this morning! Can you please forgive me?!"

Gran Torino had searched the city eight hours straight for Shido but to no avail. He was an old man, after all, and did not have the stamina to last that long. Without any results, he had no other choice but to wait at Toshinori's house, hoping he would come back by himself.

And fortunately for him, Shido did.

The moment he heard the door click open, he immediately used his quirk to boost himself towards Shido and tried to hug him, but his hug missed as Shido took a step back.

Thinking that Shido was still angry or sad, he immediately bowed to him and apologised sincerely, not caring for his pride at all.

Shido was speechless at him and thought that Torino must have gotten the wrong idea.

"Uncle Toshinori, old man Torino, it's fine." Shido sighed as he forgave him for their misspoken words. It was all in the past anyway, and he had decided to move forward already.

"I just didn't want to continue relying on your help to constantly solve problems for us. Since I know that you will eventually leave us one day, I don't want the younger generation to be overly dependent on you. Even up till now, which major incident have you not participated in?"

Torino continued explaining himself, not caring whether or not Shido was listening, though he hoped that he was. He felt a little guilty for speaking misleading words and wanted to clarify them so that Shido wouldn't feel ostracised.

"If we keep relying on you, I'm afraid that the future of this world would crumble, like how All Might's situation is currently happening now that he has retired from the world of heroes."

When Shido heard his words, he paused for a while.

"Thank you for clarifying." Shido smiled and walked past him, "As I said, I forgive you for your words. But don't ever say that you're over-reliant on me, because even if I don't come from this world, this world was where I grew up, and I intend to protect it."

Torino lifted his head and hugged Shido, who did not reject it this time.

"All right, that's enough. Eri still needs to take her bath." Shido sighed helplessly after ten minutes of hugging.

Leaving the two heroes to their own matters, Shido gently shook Eri's body.

"I know you're already awake. It's time for a bath now; you stink."

Eri's eyes flew wide open and immediately smelled herself before turning towards Shido angrily.

"Hey! I don't stink!"

"Haha, sure, sure. Go take a bath." Shido smiled and patted her head.

Eri stuck out her tongue but still went towards the bathroom to take a shower.

Meanwhile, Shido sat on the floor and leaned against the wall in his bedroom.

"What are you doing now?" Yoshinon asked as he watched Shido raise his arm to chest level, his palms open and facing the ceiling.

"I got something new from the dream. Turns out my ability doesn't only allow me to summon new weapons."

Shido said mysteriously as his hands glowed brightly.

He closed his eyes, and the light that was being emitted slowly turned dark.

Four mysterious, round, orb-like gems slowly formed. From the size of a tiny seed, it slowly grew to the size of a marble, to the size of a tennis ball, and finally, it stopped at the size of a baseball.

The four orb-like gems floated gently above Shido's hand. They were pitch black, but it wasn't dull. It was shining ever so gently, yet the energy that radiated from it was anything but gentle.

It was gloomy, negative, and evil.

"You see, I'm not even human, to begin with. I'm something known as ..."

As four names appeared in his mind: Amdusias, Murmur, Bathin, and Shax

"...a spirit..."

Full Title: Resolution and Qlipha Creation

A/N: I think I teared up a little when writing the first part, lol. Can't believe I teared up on my own writing...

And yeah, the dream from the last chapter wasn't complete, and I didn't fully continue the dream since I didn't find the need to.

I had an idea about writing a guy being reborn in DxD with Jade Emperor's power from GOH with a bunch of yanderes as well. But unlike those stories present, mine will be a crossover, so both elements of DxD and GOH would be present.

But, too bad...this idea is starting to pop up a lot these days. So after I complete this fanfic, which wouldn't be anytime soon, and those stories are very undeveloped, I might pick it up.

And definitely no chapter tmr. I got a fkin camp so yeah...

You might realise it after reading to this point, but I tend to put in a lot of dialogues and conversations.

Honestly, I don't know why I do it, but I feel that it would make it more 'life-like' rather than a diary entry.

If you don't really like the characters having too many conversations, then...I don't know.

Creation is hard, cheer me up!
