Clive glanced down at her and knocked her forehead. "It's for your good," he said.
"You better have a good reason cuz you're making me run like a bloody horse, I can already run super fast then why should I run in normal speed?" she whined.
"Tsk, let me explain it in layman's terms." he gestured for Lucas. He brought over a small branch and handed it over. Clive wrapped a huge leaf over the stick.
"This branch represents your bones and this leaf represents your muscles. If you are normally running they will expand and contract," he moved the stick around.
'He is playing with stick aero planes with that,' Reya thought as she stared in a daze.
Clive noticed her distracted gaze and he knocked her head again. "Concentrate,"
"This is when you run super speed," he bent the stick. It snapped the leaf covered over it tore. "This would be your bones and muscles of you run just fifteen minutes," he said.
Reya gasped. She knew that her powers were taxing on her body but she never thought that could get mortally injured by it. "Then my legs would break?" she whispered mortified.
"Not just break, it would shatter to pieces," Clive said with a grimace. "That's why you need to strengthen your thighs, muscles and bones. This training would strengthen your muscles. And I've prepared a special diet to strengthen your bones as much as I can," he said with a smirk.
Reya blinked and nodded. She didn't think so far. She just thought the power was awesome and with that she might have a chance to save Mina. 'Good thing I asked Clive for help,'
She patted his shoulders. "I don't hate you much now. And....about the special diet, is it pork rinds, ribeye steak?" she said with anticipation.
"Bone soup," he said.
This brought down her enthusiasm. "Bone soup tastes disgusting!"
"But it's good for your health. You need all the calcium you could get," he said and walked back to his umbrella. Lucas handed over his cup of tea which he slowly sipped.
Reya gritted her teeth and started her marathon. This time she started controlling her ragged breath so that with each step she would exhale. This way she was able to exert less energy and travel longer distance.
After round three she started feeling faint. But still she persevered. "If...I...want.. my legs....I need...training," she said in between pants.
"You're doing good," Clive shouted from the corner.
Glancing back, Reya flipped him a bird and continued her run.
"Run two more rounds," Clive shouted from behind.
Baffled Raya gawked at him. 'I think he is secretly a sadist.' she thought wiping away her imaginary tears.
She could hear his unrestrained laughter from behind. "Mean person,…I think he was a evil banana in his past life,"
Chuckling at her vivid description, Reya still continued her run. Finally after an hour or so she finished her rounds completely. By the end of it, she laid on the ground and paned. Her legs…..they were burning like crazy and her entire body felt like it was made of lead.
Clive slowly walked over and stood above her. "Well done. Now lets the real training start," He said with a smirk.
Watching his dubious grin, Reya cried internally. 'No he is the devil.' she could even imagine bloody horns on his head and with a whip in his hands as he shouted, "Run horse run, you are my slave,"
She rolled over and held his shin. "Master, please…..let me live," she cried dramatically. Her strained muscles cannot handle even more training today.
Clie removed his shades and gazed down at her with pity. "You need to suffer a little to win your test," he said.
Reminded of her purpose, Reya continued her training with sincerity. They both did duck walk around the mansion. After which she sprinted a few meters. Later she did upper body workout like, weightlifting, pushups and pull ups.
Clive removed the weights from the bench press and wiped his sweat with a small clean towel. "We are done for the day," he said with a smirk. He tossed over a towel to her face and walked out of the gym.
Finalllyy….she was done for the day. Cleaning her sweaty face with the towel she slowly tottered out. Her legs….they were practically jelly at this point, Absolutely weak and useless. And her shoulders were aching and throbbing. 'Is this how I am going to be spending my mornings? This is torture,' she thought with imaginary tears in her eyes.
"Reya!" Mina stood outside with a glass bottle full of orange juice.
"Baby," she hugged her tight. Mina cheerfully giggled in her embrace. Watching her sister's cheerful smile made all the pain worth it.
