I'm just not sure how many more flags can be crammed into this story before the big blow up that's gonna happen.
... what is she planning? She clearly doesn't value the people around her, she's in a crazy amount of danger, yet she has the confidence to play tricks and try to hire people? It feels like she's got some sort of backup plan.
It feels like she's about to sacrifice everyone who came with them, and she was giving the MC a chance to join the dark side/not die.
... I'm getting bad vibes from this woman and her crystal.
I wonder if she isn’t as bad as she appears
