I'm starting to think the MC isn't up for the task of saving humanity. He is kind of dumb. He has been back for months and still haven't made a 5 year plan to upgrade humanity? Then instead of using his greatest resource wisely, time, he went and squander it by making things much more difficult (and longer) to achieve.

Hmm i was thinkibg that he would choose to major in gathering materials that way he could slowly recuperate and use his expertise to gain influence. By the time the big invasion occurs he would be well known enough that people will listen to him and would want his input on the defense of the town.
