I was going to point out several inconsistensies in the first chap but I held back and now after reading chap 2, I'm glad I held back. nice premise author, I will be following this novel.

And no technology at that point would have been able to detect them in time. Although, you are right, even if the next chapter is expaining what was actually going on there, a new reader would have no idea and might not continue following the novel. The start is a bit shaky because of that...
SmilingPerson:mainly how the governments were able to keep a meteor rain secret with the era's technology and how they decided that hiding in a bunker 4000km underground in the middle of nowhere would be a good place to fire nuclear missiles and moniter the world from. it would have been better if the upper echelons of every big nation and the observatories around the world had been working together to create a safe location be diverting the meteors coming on that place and selfishly hiding there and then the gaurdians saving the rest of the people. it would've showed us the attitude of top level people and then the attitude of Gods. that is my two cents.
