Chapter Ninety

♦Dane's POV♦

I look around in surprise, stopping in my tracks, I hadn't been hallucinating right because I could have sworn that The Order had attacked us.

The rest stop and turn around when they realize that I had stopped moving.

"Dane?" Arianna calls to me in surprise.

"Are you okay, babe?" Selena asks, stepping forward in my direction.

I shake my head to dispel the confused thoughts swirling around in my head. "I think so?" I say hesitantly, looking around again.

Everywhere seems perfectly fine, Ghost City is in the distance and the Dark Plains are around us, the sun hanging low in the sky.

Nothing seems out of place but I can't help the niggling feeling at the back of my mind that something is really, really wrong.

"You think?" Neruda asks impatiently. "We have to be at Ghost City before nightfall, wraiths frequent this place and I'm not ready to bump into any of them."

"Yeah, sorry." I say, walking forward.
