'0.3'Hostile territories

My heartbeat stops for a second. Do you really think she is to be trusted? The voice echo's through my mind and dwells into my heart pulling out my heartstrings.

The familiar pain clawed at my chest and this time the tears didn't stop. I now recognize the voice as Ryker's. My own brother doesn't trust me? My mind was rummaging through reasons of why he could not trust me.

Without permission my legs carry me all the way to my chambers. I closed the door and slide down it with my back pressed against the door. I wanted to cry, I wanted to scream but anyone could hear me.

Trying to collect myself I stumble all the way to my bed and sink down on the soft matras. I sob as quietly as I possibly could. There was no real reason why they shouldn't trust me. I am their sister for Thor's sake!

A few hours past with me pushing back my emotions as far as I could while the thoughts haunt and taunt me. One of those thoughts is the possibility of them betraying me. I mean it isn't exactly uncommon for Viggo to betray his clients, he is the master of deception after all ...

I suppress my thoughts and went to work, according to Viggo the Dragon Riders are supposed to come tomorrow tonight. I smeared myself in lavender oil then dress in ragged clothes that I found laying on one of my chests.

I fix my hair into a braid and expertly made it look like I was attacked. The clothes they gave me were more uncomfortable than armor trying to pierce your skin every time you moved. While making small bruises and harmless cuts I eye the lavender oil bottle.

It was small and fragile, it kind of reminded me about myself I guess. Viggo gave it to me on my 17th birthday as a gift. Ryker ...well, he got me the usual, a weapon. Last time it was a dagger, and I must say I am quite fond of it. I always have it with me. Always.

I look around my room trying to find out something to do. There was not really anything in my room to entertain me except Maces and Talons. I sigh walking towards the game in a sluggish mood. It reminded me of Viggo someone I didn't want to think about now.

Sitting down on a chair and examining the pieces, I begin moving the pieces around as if I was playing against myself. After a few minutes of playing I finally cornered the Marauder king.

I was about to reveal the final move, when a hand appeared out of nowhere and moved the king away trapping my shieldmaiden in the prosses. I blink a few times and look up to see Viggo observing me. I gave a small smile.

" Hey Viggo, thought you would all ready be asleep." I remark. He returned the smirk and sat on the closest chair after moving it towards the game. " Yes, but I signed a few papers and saw that your candle was still burning. "

I nod and moved my imposter next to his dragon. " How long were you standing there?" I point to the doorframe. " Quite a while and I see you have improved." He acknowledges moving his king tot he corner of the map. I felt a bubble of pride sweeping my surface and couldn't help but smile.

My hand hovered above my dragon in thought. No, he wants me to go after him. See, his dragon is already in line. I smirk moving my imposter next to my king. I could see him raise his brow while smirking. The pride didn't stop bubbling as he moved his dragon to the opposite side of the board.

What the ..? The game continued for a decent time then all of a sudden he captures both of my kings when I thought I escaped, making me lose the game. I sigh in half annoyance half defeat. This didn't go unnoticed by Viggo as he stood up and gave me a pat on the shoulder.

Usually it worked, but it seemed more half-hearted and like a routine. I play, I try, I lose. I give him a half smile but I couldn't hide the fact that I was disappointed. " Are you disappointed?" He asked.

" A little." I reply honestly. " Don't fret, you'll get better." He said and folded his arms behind his back. I knew it was a lie, everybody always told me that, but never did I win Viggo or my father for that matter. If I will one day I know it will be by stupid luck.

" Viggo can you be honest with me?" I ask looking up into his eyes. " About what? " He inquired looking back at mine. " Do you trust me?" I question breaking the eye contact and looking to the ground.

He used one of his fingers to bring my chin up to look back at him. " With my life." He replied calmly. I broke into a smile at his statement and jumped up hugging him tightly. " Thank you." I whisper. He chuckled and gently moved his hands over my back hugging me back.

Moments like this was more rare than diamonds. After a few moments we broke apart staring into each others eyes. His was dark and full of deceit while mine was bright and full of trust. " Good night." I mutter breaking the awkward silence between us.

He nodded. " Good night." And with that he left leaving me in a bundle of joy. He trusts me ...His voice rings into my head even after I fell asleep.

I walked onto the deck avoiding eye contact with any of the guards. We were heading to Melody island where the Dragon Riders would be searching for a lens. While walking I saw guards forcing a Deadly Nadder into a cell harshly so I stepped in.

I always did when the dragons would go on a rampage. The guards however didn't share the same respect for dragons as I did. One time I found them shoving a Monstrous Nightmare into a too small cage, unaware of the danger I hopped into the situation earning a burn mark on the left side of my waist.

After the ' incident ' happened, my father heard about it and scolded at me coldly. But he too agreed that the cage was too small for the dragon. I jog up to the guards shouting and screaming to get it under control.

I stood in front of the Nadder and swiftly scratched its chin making it fall to the ground. " Take the dragon gently otherwise it will attack." I warn them. I could see the hatred in their eyes for me because I was way younger than them.

None the less they followed my orders and gently put the dragon in its cage. I take a look around seeing the mysterious fog covering the ship. " Beware of the rocks and stand your guard, the Death song will show no mercy." Ryker shouts to the guards.

Scrambling, they loaded their bows and some paddled avoiding the rocks. " Imora dear you should go inside, its going to get wild." Viggo insisted drawing his sword. I nod following his orders and went inside to my room.

Once there, I heard multiple shouts and screams of guards. I eye the Maces and Talons board but didn't dare go near it. I don't want to get defeated again by a sudden appearing Viggo.

I make my way to one of my chests and open the lock, pulling the lid open. Inside was various maps and books with leather bound covers. I glance at each one of them finally picking an old crinkled map of the archipelago.

I stood and walked over to the table and set the map down carefully. Pushing open the map the crisp smell of paper filled my lungs. The map viewed different islands and see stacks, all done in great detail. My search continues while I lean against the table's edge. Then as small as the island may be, it still caught my eye.

Underneath it stood; The isle of Berk. I have never heard of such a place ... There were more shouts coming from the deck and suddenly the whole boat rocked to the side. It clearly signalled the arrival of the island. My heart couldn't help but ram against my chest anxiously. More shouts followed and then footsteps that eventually cleared.

They've gone overboard. I knew from instinct, because this wasn't uncommon. The tribe would search the island and I would wait for them to return to see if it is safe. Although the gesture was to protect me, I couldn't help but feel like they just didn't want me screwing up. A couple hours past but I kept my focus on the map.

As I inspect Berk further, I heard a song. It was really beautiful and alluring like a spell. Without thought, I left my room and followed the voice that came to my ears. It felt like I was under a trance and I couldn't think straight, all that I knew is that I had to follow the voice.

I jump off the boat and on the ground of the island. The voice grew louder and louder as I neared it. The nearer I got the stronger the instinct became to follow it. I soon find myself in a lush wood. Their green leaves intimating me as I walk past them and the ground wavered beneath me.

Still I followed the strange voice all the way to the source. I walked through a canyon and into a clearing where dragons from all species were trapped in orange rock. And in the middle on a rock was the Death song. And he was staring right at me...
