Synopsis

It hit us faster than anyone could have predicted. I think we all knew the end was coming soon. But I'm not sure we all realized what that meant. It started with riots, murders. Then there were mass-murders and before we batted an eye, the war started. The Apocalypse War.

Chapter 1Chapter 1

(A/N:We are all human and need to try our best to help each other. The reason I am writing this story, is to show the world where we are headed if we don't stop accusing, judging and if we don't get rid of our thirst for blood, whether physical or verbal, etc. This story is obviously fiction, therefore, I hope you still enjoy it, it will be graphic in only a few parts. One more thing, sorry guys, this book is to remind us, that no argument is worth it. It might suck, might take everything inside us, but we need to forgive and love each other. No argument is worth it, and this wont be one big story about depression from war and death)

The riots were insane, it didn't matter what side you were on, Biden, Trump, Emmanuel Macron, whoever. It seemed that everyone turned on everyone. Astrid wasn't sure what side to trust, what country or state. If they weren't pointing a gun at her, it was 50-50.

Astrid looks up at her mother, she shivers and pulls her light jacket around her tighter. "Astrid, tu peux avoir une couverture?"

Astrid grunts and looks at her mother, "Ils ne nous en donneront pas."

Her mom gives a serious look, "Essayez juste. Obtenez de la nourriture si vous le pouvez."

Astrid sighs and nods, "Fine." She says in her thick French accent,

Astrid stands and starts away from the fire to a cargo plane. Astrid was the one to go because she was young and beautiful. almost flawless, and the rest of her family was gone. walking down the street were all the refugees, Astrid and her family were among them. People either immediately dropped like flies, or their heads exploded first from the impact of the bullets. Astrid managed to get most of it out of her hair, but there are a few blood stains in her hair that she hasn't washed out yet, simply because they can't spare the water.

Astrid snaps back and walks up to the soldiers. "We don't have anything for you."

"Please, we don't have any blankets."

"You got to be patient like everyone else."

"We have been. We have been first on the waiting list for a month. We haven't died yet, sorry to disappoint." she spits,

The two growl at her with their eyes, "We are freezing, people keep going before us, at this rate, we will freeze to death!"

"Not our problem brat!"

"What's going on here?"

Astrid turns and looks at an American Lieutenant. "A complainer sir."

Astrid's face turns angry. "You'll get suppli-"

"When it's available! When I reach the top of the list! I've been at the top of different lists over the past three fricken months! I have been kind and patient and gladly let others take my place in the lists! If you don't finally give me at LEAST one blanket I'm going to steal a rifle and mow down anyone that gets in my effing way! My mother and I are going to freeze to death if you don't give us something!"

The lieutenant frowns hard, sympathetic pain, smacked on his face. he looks at her tank top and worn jeans. He takes her arm and gently leads her away from the soldiers slightly. "I can get you a blanket for your mother and maybe a new set of clothes for you. They'll be warmer."

Tears form in her eyes, she breathes hard and shakily. "Thank you." she mutters,

He nods, telling her to follow him. "What are your sizes?"

They walk onto the plane, he finds a blanket for her and gives her a leather jacket with fur interlining and gives her new jeans and boots with fur interlining. They all fit surprisingly well, she thanks him again twice and hugs him, she can't hold it back and cries into his shoulder, he hugs her back.

"I understand. I'm sorry."

She walks off the plane and hurries back to her mother and hands her the blanket. Her mother frowns at her.

"They only gave me one and the clothes. Its something."

Her mother's face softens. "We need to get to america."

"It would be warmer at least."

Astrid stretches and sits by the fire, tucking her arms under her. "We need food Astrid."

"They don't have it. Trust me, i cant get it from them right now. They wont give it to me."

Her mother groans softly, Astrid rolls her eyes and gets to her feet. "I'll see what i can do about water."

Astrid stands up and starts toward the cargo plane. They wont say yes, what does she do?

Then suddenly all goes black, she falls and hits the ground.

She groans and drowsily opens her eyes. Ringing fills her ears. She pushes up to her side, gosh! Why's is she so drained?

She looks around and suddenly a brown wave jumps into the air and crashes on her. But its so light. She smiles as she thinks about a day on the beach, watching her dad surfing.

Suddenly it all comes back and the smile disappears.

BOOM!...BOOM!...BOOM!

She jumps up to her feet. She stumbles, but catches herself. Whoa! She's really drained! She can barely stand.

Everyone is running to the cargo plane. Astrid looks around, her heart drops, shattering, she falls to her knees, tears streaming her cheeks, taking the dirt with them.

She stares at the crater that engulfs the place that was once her and another's campsite. Just. Gone. Astrid looks around, scanning the people. But she knows shes gone. Shes gone. Astrid seals her eyes shut and falls forward unto her hands. She lets the tears drop to the ground as she sobs.

A shell strikes nearby and throws Astrid off the hill and down into a ditch. She grunts loudly as the air is thrown out of her.

She lies there, trying desperately to catch her breath. Once she does, she moans and sobs. She cant decide is she wants to die or run. Her mother, her family would want her to run.

She hates that she has allowed herself to think that. She forces herself up to her feet and runs. Her mind is too centered on grief, every other part of her mind is in too much shock to think about anything else. She just. Runs. Across an open field, as if it had been a marathon.

The panic and explosions, soon turn to screams and gunshots. When it stops, Astrid throws herself at the bottom of a hill, behind a bush. They thought it was safer in China, so many rumors. They decided to test them, now China is collapsing. She prays that America be okay. Up till today, she was stuck at the border of Iraq. Shes getting out if it kills her.

She sits there, sobbing to herself. Trying to keep quiet, until finally, she passes out.

Valerian Empire

A dark time when the creatures of shadow descended unto the tranquil human lands, making their existence known. A time followed when empires were led by humanity's conspiracy and betrayal, a time filled with hatred, but unbeknownst to the humans, they were only mere puppets, pawns of greater beings of darkness, entities with the power to crush anything and everything in their way. What happens when a small human girl catches the eye of one of these so-called greater beings, a pureblooded Lord? Can an ant such as her survive the political strifes and fearsome feuds between the lands and the monsters that control them. For those who fear vampires, ghosts and the unknown, I offer two words of advice… Tread lightly. -------- "Why should I avoid him? He was a perfect gentleman, a good man," Katherine Welcher argued in his defense. "Good or not, neither matter," Alexander Delcrov warned her, "As long as you're under my wing, you shall behave and listen to my words. Do not let any man kiss you, Katherine. I don’t want others to call you improper." "There was nothing improper about it! And I'm not yours to obey," she blurted out in annoyance, feeling her face flush with embarrassment for the second time this evening, "I mean, you can't order me aro—-" "So disobedient," he stated with nonchalance before moving his hand from her waist to her back, pulling her closer to him as they danced. His breath tickled her nape. "So you’ll only listen if you are mine?"
