The darkness has envelops the whole land and the cries of the monstrous beast could be heard anywhere. Outside of the towns and cities protected by strong and powerful barriers, the environment is really harsh and the law of the survival of the fittest is the only law that exists.
From the tiniest deadly insect to the largest and fiercest of the creatures this law is the only thing they follow.
And those humans that dare enter this vast sea of greenery are aware of this law and its real danger.
At this moment a figure could be seen squatting on the ground while mumbling some incoherent words to himself. Sometimes one could hear some chuckles while the figure busily gathers some herbs and plants on the ground.
Curt is currently feeling elated upon finding the location of a rare herb which he was a bit familiar with.
As he has ventured a little further into the deep forest, he has detected this scent and these herbs on the ground. But what made him feel more elated is the age of the herbs he is harvesting and the amount of LEP energy stored within the herbs.
Most plants have the ability to absorb and store pure Qi inside them. This same thing is the same in this LEP right world.
"If my calculations are correct, then these herbs are around 200 years old… Hihi. I hit the jackpot!" Curt muttered to himself as he happily harvested the plants.
Meanwhile, not too far from his location are seven men wearing combat suits and wielding guns and weapons. These same men are those that followed Curt outside the wall.
With the premise of hunting some beasts, the seven men got the permit. But to their surprise, they actually lost track of Curt as he did not need to go through the process of exiting the gate.
All Curt has to do is wear the mask and the soldiers immediately could recognize him along with the special ID he got from Melissa.
As the seven men carefully traverse the darkness, they carefully try to track down Curt's location. One of them who holds the ability of tracking seems to suddenly able to pick up Curt's scent in the air.
"Wait… he went this way…" the man said as the group follows his direction.
Soon the group arrives near the part of the forest where Curt has just harvested some plants.
"He just left this place…" the man said with a frown.
"What is that douchebag doing? Did he just go out of the city just to gather some plants? Is he crazy?" one of them grumbled as he suddenly kicks the plants on the ground.
"Let's get him and get this over with. I can't wait to get my revenge against that guy."
"Yeah, he caused us to be kicked out of the school… and that assh*le Alan Kane is not even anywhere and could not be contacted. He told us that he would take care of the rest, and the APE fraternity would handle the case with leniency, but damn it…"
"Guys you worry too much… Ryan Amista told me that we can still go back to school as long as we can take care of that trash." Curt's former teacher said with a smirk.
The four men wore a special suit that insinuated their muscular and fit body. If one could see these seven people they would feel pressured in facing them as they are armed to the teeth.
Above a tree, Curt looks at this group of people with a glint in his eyes.
Crawling on his hand is a colorful spider of red and yellow. By using the LEP energy in his dantian, he is able to optimize his vision as if everything around him is a bit brighter like before the sun would set.
As he glances at the small spider on his hand a faint smile appears on his face.
"Little one, do you see those bad guys… I want to teach them a lesson; you would help me, right?" Curt muttered as he let the spider crawl on his hand.
He then carefully let it crawl on his palm and he blew a small gust of air making the spider stop. Then suddenly, he blew a bit stronger making the small thing fly in the air and land on one of the guys not too far below him.
When the spider landed, it immediately crawls on the suit of the man and then suddenly spotted a spot on the man's neck without the protection.
It rocks its head back and its sharp fangs were in the air. Without hesitation, the spider suddenly bits the guy and then jumps down as if it knew that something is going to happen.
As the spider left, a large palm smacks its position with force.
"Ouch! Something bit me…" the man said with a frown.
However, he soon discovers that his vision suddenly became blurry and his body feeling a bit hot. It only took around 5 seconds before the man was completely paralyzed.
"Damn it! He was bitten by an insect! Everyone, be careful!" said the ex-teacher.
As their eyes are all over the place, they did not know that the spider is already on another person. Yet besides that spider, another three more are actually floating in the air and slowly landing towards them.
Not long later a howl of anguish was heard which frightens the rest of the people in the group.
This time out of the seven people only three are left as they immediately retreated.
They wanted to help their comrades, but they did not bring any antidote when going out. Their purpose is not to hunt beasts but to kill someone, so they did not anticipate such an event would happen.
As the three retreated, they look at their companions in horror.
This time, the first one that was bitten is already in a seizure while white foam are coming out of his mouth. They dare not get close to the four on the ground.
"What should we do?"
"What can we do? We can't even see our enemy…"
"Wait a minute, is this a trap created by that student? If so, then he is very sinister and evil."
"Yeah… I can't believe that such a human could exist and use such poison against another human. How cruel…"
The two said with righteous indignation and tone. However, the ex-teacher of Curt is quiet as he observes the surroundings.
"Hihi… I'm cruel? That's an understatement coming from a person that is trying to assassinate another…" a voice that reverberated in the air suddenly interrupted them.
The three people stood back to back as they look around.
"Show yourself… you coward!"
"Yeah, fight us fairly… all you know is to hide and be a… chicken!"
"You're not a real man. Get out of here and face us head-on!"
The two people began to berate Curt as they tried to locate him in the darkness.
Although they are using their infrared goggles they could not see anyone in their surroundings.
"What should we do?" asked one of them in a low voice.
"Let's retreat, we have no choice…" the ex-teacher of Curt suggested in a low voice.
With a nod from his head and a signal, the three suddenly ran in different directions.
As soon as one of them took a step, he suddenly feels something flying towards him. With a quick reaction, he turns his skin into stone and the object bounces right off his strong skin.
He immediately noticed that it was only a rock. However, he soon feels a stinging pain in his shoulder. It was the spot where that rock hit. And when his eyes landed on that spot, he was stunned. He could see a small deep depression on the surface of his stone skin and some cracks could be seen on them.
This guy was not the only one that was attacked by Curt.
The two others were attacked and one of them was not fast enough and the stone pierced right through his abdomen.
Even with the suit, it was not strong enough to stop a stone coated with energy.
Curt did not hesitate and immediately threw out a palm length needle towards the stone-skinned person.
The needle easily inserted itself on the forehead of that man and he was not able to react and just fell to the ground and stopped moving.
Out of the seven people, the only one left is the ex-teacher of Curt who was able to run away. He frantically traces their path back going to the gate of the city.
However, before he could run any further he suddenly saw a figure jumping from above the trees and landing just in front not too far from him.
"You…"
"Hello… sir. We just met and are not really that acquainted with each other and you suddenly have this enmity with me… How is this so?" Curt suddenly asked calmly.
Hearing Curt's words, a smirk appears on the man's face but then it suddenly changes. They might have no enmity between them, but that did not matter. For him, as a teacher and as a member of the APE fraternity, he has a duty to his fraternity.
According to their information, there is a possibility that this student is a spy from the terrorist group. When the terrorist group attacked the school, he was not present.
He decided to not leave home upon discovering the accident. He did not want to enter into a fight at that time. However, when he learned what had happened in school, he was enraged in his heart. He swore to punish those terrorist groups.
He has joined the fraternity in hunting the remaining forces of the terrorist in the city last month and when he heard from Alan Kane that a new student in his class might be a terrorist spy, he was immediately enraged.
His suspicion became deeper when he could not pull out any records from that guy named Curt Nilfiem, and this made him truly thinks that the young man is a terrorist.
And so, he obeyed every command from Alan Kane but did not tell this to his companions.
And now that he heard those words from Curt, he suddenly sneered.
"A terrorist like you would never understand me. Though you killed my companions, I will do my best to avenge their deaths and kill you…" he said as he suddenly takes out his rifle.
Then in a quick movement, he suddenly squeezes the trigger.
Bratatatat…
The blazing nozzle of the rifle lit up the surroundings as bullets flew towards Curt's location.
With a quick movement, Curt dodges the bullets. But the ex-teacher did not relent and continue firing his rifle towards Curt's shifting figure.
Click! Click! Click!
Suddenly the cartridge went empty and the clicking sound of the rifle was heard. The ex-teacher of Curt suddenly grabs another magazine bullet from his waist.
However, before he could reload, he suddenly feels a stinging pain in his chest.
He just discovers that three needles are currently embedded on his chest, neck, and stomach. He did not know what is happening, but he could not move even for a bit.
Before he knew it, Curt appears in front of him and removes the needle.
"I actually pity you… I would have spared you if only you did not try to kill me. But alas…" Curt said as he showed a smile and his figure slowly blended in the shadows.
The man wanted to chase after him, but he could not move his body. He could not even use his energy.
As he is in the process of trying to figure things out, he suddenly feels and smells a warm but foul breath behind him.
Then before he knew it, something suddenly devoured him whole.
