LOVE CAN WAIT

Lunch came and everyone is in a good mood. Except for Selena. She's still thinking how the hell did Luke heard her. The crowd is so loud and crazy and she is just a single voice out there.

The lunch had been served but no Luke came to eat. She felt a bit disappointed. It's like a hole has dug inside her heart.

"Selena honey are you alright?". Avery was so concerned about her.

"Oh.... Yes of course... I'm fine". She hold the bowl of soup and pour some to her plate.

"Honey, I think you should use your bowl for the soup". Avery was suppressing her laughter. She clearly knows what's really happening to her favorite little honey.

"Oh you're right.... The bowl for the soup". She bit her lips. 'When did I become stupid'. She wants to smack herself out of humiliation.

"Larry darling, where's Luke?". Avery put some volume in her voice for Selena to hear. She knows she is waiting for him.

"Oh, I forgot to tell you. He will skip this lunch to attend a small business meeting". Larry gave Selena a meaningful look. "He will be here at dinner". Then continued eating.

Avery took a quick glance at her favorite little honey and saw a relief on her face. 'How adorable'. She thought.

The lunch ended but Selena seems to be unsatisfied with the meal. She can't eat much even though Avery made a strawberry cheese cake for her. Her taste buds didn't seem to enjoy it. This is the first time she almost rejected a strawberry cake. All her life strawberry foods became her stress reliever. Her mother even thought that she is addicted to strawberry foods. But now, not even a slightest craving. 'This is bad.... Am I going to die?'.

Selena's afternoon became slow and boring. She feels like she misses her Mom and so she called her to asked how she's doing. Few minutes of conversation with her mother she feels at ease. Erin is busy, their stores seems to be booming with customers. She smiled. The other places they lived before were quite hostile to their business. They always take Erin for a fool and she hated that. She swear to study hard and make a lot of money in the future so that Erin can enjoy her retirement. This kind of thought motivates her to reach her goal. 'I think love can wait'. Realizing her goal and dreams she console her heart and coax it.

Selena took a walk outside after talking to her mother. The sun doesn't burn her skin even though it's already afternoon. She soak herself under the sun alone. Members from the pack noticed how quiet Selena became. Even Avery can sense her gloomy mood but she didn't try to bother her.

"Hey what's up!". Mark walked to her location and tried to strike a conversation.

"Hey!". Selena was stunned a little when Mark came. She tried to sound cheerful but she herself feels like she failed.

"You look sad.....do you miss your Mom?". Mark have no other idea what topic they can talk about. He never had a serious conversation before with someone.

"Yeah, but I already talked to her. So I'm fine". Selena sighed.

Mark stop for a while. He is asking someone for help through mind link then Kevin came.

"Yo, Selena... Wanna come for a stroll?". He is in his high spirit and hoping his positive vibe would affect her.

"I can't, were still studying remember". She said with a strict tone.

The two guys just looked at each other. 'Sorry'. That's the message they send to someone.

Dinner.

Selena is anticipating Luke's arrival. She keeps on looking at the door. But dinner ended and still no Luke came.

"Avery".

"What is it honey?". Avery asked with full of concern.

Selena is hesitant but she really wanted to know why Luke hasn't come home yet. "I thought Luke will be home before dinner?".

"Oh that.... He had another business to attend to. Is there something you want to ask to him?".

"Ahm... It's nothing really.... Not very important". Selena felt embarrassed. She can't understand herself. She's not even Luke's girlfriend but she keeps asking his whereabouts.

Selena decided to go outside the mansion. She feels some tension in her body and it's all because of Luke. He makes her very worried for no reason. She choose a quiet place a bit far from the mansion and start to meditate. Minutes pass, her eyes slowly open by half. There are few eyes watching her and she can feel them. She close her eyes again. The ground is vibrating. Someone is walking from behind using a very light step.

Luke came home late and he received a lot of messages regarding Selena's behaviour all day. She's been sad for a whole day and it breaks his heart. The sudden business meeting can't be pushed. He needs to attend it. Luke asked for Selena. It was the first thing he did after coming home. His mother told him she's in the farther south of the Village. With that information Luke took off in a hurry. Although he knows his beloved Mate is safe and his mother sends some wolf to guard her. He still feels uneasy.

The search stops when he saw her sitting on the ground. She looks like she's meditating under the moonlight. Luke can feel the auras of the wolves who were watching his Mate he felt relieved. Then a naughty idea came to his mind. He slowly walk towards her. He wants to surprise her and hug her from behind. How he miss her scent so much. Two more steps and he can reach her when suddenly she moves and her foot is flying towards his face.

Selena wait until the figure were two steps behind her. Then she moves swiftly and swing her right leg to the air. She's aiming the man's face. Her attacker is also quick he dodged her attack and jump back almost five steps away from her. She sprint fast near the man and gave him a roundhouse kick but to her surprise he dodged it again. Another sprint. Now she will make sure he won't move and she can hit him. She use her secret technique and freeze him in a moment then a strong side kick to his stomach followed by a sharp axe kick was released by her. The man growl.

Selena took a step back but still in her defense and attack mode. She can't believed a man can growl like a wild animal. No fear can sense from her. She was about to attack again when she heard him calls her name.

"Selena, stop!".
