The Plan against Smith Moral

The proper mission briefing started, Kaiser was sharing with us the plan.

"Sneaking in will be too difficult, We'll have to use force." I was only able to enter the library due to a special shipment. Specials shipments were special so I wasn't going to be getting in anytime soon.

As for the trade of illegal merchandise which happened from the Eden officials… obviously, they wouldn't handle these shady trades inside a governmental institution, the illegal shipments were taken elsewhere. These were the factors that made sneaking in out of the question.

"Unless… Dan" Kaiser said pointing to where I sat in the back.

"Do you think you can get us in?" Kaiser asked me making me enter deep contemplation.

I remembered walking plainly out of the library so I could enter easily. Entering others wouldn't be that simple, however. At the very least I might end up having to kill some people to open a back door or something of the sort.

"I'm fairly confident" Still, I was confident I could get them in. What would happen once they were there was beyond me though. If it was assassinating a single person I should have sufficed no?

"Erm, wait… who's the target?" Someone asked suddenly with confusion.

"I didn't want to scare you all, but since you've asked…" Kaiser responded before taking out a picture from his pocket.

"The target is Smith Moral, an altered grade 8 individual. Age 50, loves to read books and grow plants. The morals are an offshoot family from the original founder of the Planetary Faction so he's got quite the backing." Kaiser's rundown was quite succinct but it was scary indeed. There was no member higher than grade five here unless Kaiser was lying about his grade, which wouldn't really come as a surprise.

Regardless, altered grade 8 at the age of 50 actually sounded rather underwhelming. Altered humans were stronger than even peak athletes but they were still affected by things like old age. This was honestly my own deduction rather than a certain fact but it was still unlikely that Smith Moral was at his peak.

"That's not so scary…" Someone muttered causing Kaiser to direct a glance at them.

"Not scary? Don't compare yourselves with such a figure. All the Eden folk have undergone some form of military training. This is especially true for those that come from big families." Kaiser chastised with a slight glare before clearing his throat and focusing on the matter at hand.

"Another thing, we need pictures" Kaiser said pulling out his phone.

""""Pictures?"""" At least half of the people in the lounge chimed in and asked.

"Yes, I already have pictures of the mine. We just need the proof that the planetary faction is involved" Kaiser's words made lots of sense from a political perspective.

For the Planetary faction which advocated the restoration of nature, showing their ties to waste mining and the cruelness that went on down there would surely spark controversy. So you love nature and hate humans, was that it? Many would ask in ridicule.

It was worth noting that based on my personal inference, all the parties took part in this vile action. The only difference would be the conditions or their personal stances. The disquisitive party for example advocated conquest so they wouldn't seem like hypocrites. Plus, if the media only reported half-truths who would know?

"Just find incriminating documents and have your team leader snap the necessary pictures" Kaiser explained.

"Hold on, who are the team leaders?" Seamus asked noticing this new detail.

"Ahem, you all keep interrupting me, let me explain properly" Kaiser said before starting to explain the method of operation in detail.

The members would be split into teams of five with the strongest and or smartest member acting as a leader of these teams.

After I facilitate their entry, a group of teams would be essentially sacrificed by being used as a distraction. The chances of Mr. Moral personally taking action were low, but the surrounding grunts would definitely be drawn out. This would thin out his defense.

With this opportunity, the other teams could act together or separately to find documents while storming library offices. The odds of finding incriminating evidence in the library was low however meaning that this was only a side quest. The main thing was still assassination.

These groups would ultimately all reach Smith Moral's house which was indeed placed inside the library. This information was provided by Rook and his employers so it couldn't be wrong but it did cause some surprise. Was there anything wrong with Termina to the point of preferring to never step foot outside?

The answer was yes, everyone knew the answer was yes.

"That sums it up, we'll just pump him full of lead at that point" Kaiser said in conclusion, his choice of wording accurate. We wouldn't be using Tommy guns, just regular pistols, but I still had a certain image in mind…

As I was pondering on how many bullets an altered grade 8 could survive, a new question entered my mind.

"Kaiser, the deadline is a month, right? So what are we doing in the meantime?" I wasn't insinuating we'd attack on the last day, but there was definitely no way we were going right now.

"Good that you asked, we'll be absorbing the smaller gangs in the area" Kaiser said nonchalantly.

""Wh- What?!"" "Really?" Multiple incredulous exclamations were heard from the members who heard Kaiser's nonchalant declaration. I myself was left surprised by Kaiser's attitude.

"We'll need more numbers if we want to attack the library" Kaiser said reminding everyone of the peril that this operation posed. In contrast, attacking all the smaller gangs was a piece of cake.

It would also serve as good training for new members, I certainly planned to cherish the opportunity.

"It'll be hard to hide these movements…" Kaiser muttered to himself under the gaze of everyone.

"What are you all doing? Get moving!" Kaiser who noticed their gazes yelled angrily looking as if he would kill us for staying in place.

"To- To where?" Someone asked confused.

"Go get information on the nearby gangs you lazy punks!" He screamed before everyone finally got the memo. They all stood up wanting to storm their way down the stairs.

Seamus who also stood up didn't do so to leave, he started walking in my direction.

"Team?" He prompted.

"Sure" I had no reason to refuse, I needed someone experienced with these streets to gather information anyway.

The plan against Smith Moral seems full of holes. I wonder if anything will prop up as a result...

But how many chapters would you like the gang conquest to take? I'm not planning on spending more than 10 chapters, or approximately 10k words on it. Maybe you guys would like it to be more or less. Giving the release schedule, I'm sure most of you would prefer less but I guess a minimum would be appreciated.

Thanks for reading~!
