Real Life

It was six thirty when Madeleine Riley was sat in her bathroom perfecting her hair and makeup. She'd already heated up leftovers from her previous days' lunch and feasted on that, but knowing Madeleine, her body would be capable of making her hungry in the next hour.

Maddy wanted to make a good first impression on her soon-to-be new friends. Hopefully they'd like her and her friends too. Maddy pulled her hair into a half and half. She had a long ponytail as the first layer, and let the rest of her wavy hair flow down.

She threw on a white top, a pair of black and white striped pants with a leather belt and she held onto her black leather bag. Maddy decided to bring a white sweater just in case she got cold, knowing her body temperature could go from negative 50 degrees to 130.

"I live a difficult life." she huffed to herself.

*15 Minutes Later*

Maddy was laying on her couch, scrolling through instagram when she heard a knock on her door. She excitedly jumped up and off the couch and skipped to her front door. As soo as Madeleine reaches he door, she swung it open to see three beaming faces staring back at her. All the girls squealed and hugged, saying their hello's before fully entering Maddy's apartment.

All four of them sat down on the living room couch and started chatting about the party they were all giddy to attend. Maddy was listening to her friends chirp away about meeting new people and finally getting to go out to a party after such a dry time in all their lives.

Maddy was sitting on the couch in silence in her own little world as Olivia spoke about talking to everyone she'd meet. You see, Madeleine is actually a very shy girl when she meets someone for the first  time. Sure if she speaks to someone over the phone she can be a chatty Cathy, but meeting new people in person was always an obstacle for her. Her friends would always have to escort her towards someone and introduce her, but once she got comfortable, Maddy would be back to her usual, loquacious self.

Another ten minutes must've passed because Maddy's phone let out the same noise it had before, notifying her that Zane had arrived.

"Alright bitches, you ready?" Maddy asked,  looking from girl to girl.

Everyone nodded.

"Then let's hit this joint."

Once Maddy and all her friends had gotten down the elevator to the lobby of her apartment building, she looked out the glass doors and saw Zane sitting in the driver's seat of his car. She could hear the faint sound of a honk and saw Zane motion for he girls to come out. Maddy laughed to herself and lead the girls outside.

"Get ready to meet the gayest straight man you'll ever know." she joked.

All the girls walked towards the car and smiled at Zane as he rolled the passenger's seat window down.

"Ayyy! My baby finally made it!" He cheered.

"Uhh, more like you finally met up with me after six fucking years!" Maddy shouted before laughing and giving Zane a bear-hug.

"Good seeing you too boo." Zane replied calmly before pulling away.

Maddy sat in shotgun while Olivia, Emma, and Valerie sat in the back seats.

"And who're these pretty ladies?" Zane inquired.

"Oh! Right. Zane, meet Olivia, Emma, and Valerie." Madeleine said, motioning from girl to girl.

Each of the girls shot Zane a smile and waved at him as he did the same.

"Y'all lookin' real cute tonight." he said, starting to pull out of the apartment's driveway.

"Aw thank you Zane!" Olivia chirped.

"Of course baby, I only speak the truth."

Maddy smiled as she started to hear the conversations between her childhood best friend and her new best friends start to blossom.

*10 Minutes Later*

Madeleine was listening to Zane tell random stories about crazy ghings that he'd been up to recently when she got a text from Zane's friend David. She picked up her phone and opened the message.

"Ooooh, Maddy's got a man on her hands." Valerie cooed.

"Oh Jesus would you shut up." Maddy hissed.

"Who is it?" Zane asked.

"Your best buddy David." Maddy replied with a hint of sass.

"Oooh, girl what he say?" Zane excitedly questioned, resisting the urge to look away from the road.

"None of your beeswax." Maddy replied, keeping the message a secret.

"Oop-looks like lil' baby Maddy's got a potential boyfie on her plate." Emma teased.

Madeleine shot her one long stare which was enough to shut her up.
