The surprising encounter and a story

"Well, it was a part of my mission," said Nina, calm and unfazed. "You'd kill anyone that your boss assigned you to, right?"

"That was before I retired from the fighting world," said Anna. "How could you have the heart to kill my lovely John?"

Just as she said that she started crying. Shasha had heard the row outside and came out to see what was happening. She was shocked to see Nina standing with a crying Anna. Nina looked a little guilty and was sorry for Anna. Anna had retired from being a fighter and wanted to lead a normal life with her soulmate but too bad he was assassinated by Nina, who had received orders from the one who hired her as an assassin. But Nina was no longer an assassin as Jin had once more become the leader of the Mishima Zaibatsu after the death of Heihachi Mishima. Nina had liked working with Jin as she thought it was best to work with good instead of evil. She wanted to fight with Jin at getting what's right which was to defeat evil. After all, even as an assassin, she only assassinated people for the good of the world except when she was controlled by ogre.

"What's going on?" asked Shasha, shocked to suddenly see the crying Anna in the backyard with a guilty looking Nina. "When did you get here, Miss Williams? Why are you crying?"

Anna said nothing and Nina suddenly spoke.

"Anna, I think we better go inside," said Nina. "It's getting cold out here."

So they all went inside and Shasha closed the back door and locked it. Nina was trying to comfort Anna in the living room. Shasha thought that Anna might want a drink so she made some hot jasmine tea. She brought a tray of it and laid it on the coffee table.

"Here, have some," said Shasha while handing out a cup of tea to Anna and putting one in front of Nina. She took one herself and sat next to Anna.

Anna was still crying as she remembered her late boyfriend. She was looking forward to her wedding but it ended in disaster. She sipped some tea while tears rolled down her cheek. She relaxed a little after she sipped the calming taste of jasmine tea.

"Jasmine tea..." said Anna. "I really like jasmine tea..."

"Anna, I'm sorry for your loss but it was a mission," said Nina. "I was ordered to assassinate him and I didn't know he was your fiancé until I arrived at the place and saw your wedding banners on the walls."

"If it wasn't for that stupid Zaibatsu you're working for, none of this would have happened!" said Anna. "Me and John had decided to get out of that G Corp place right before we got married and turn our backs to fighting forever."

"It wasn't because of the Zaibatsu, Anna," said Nina. "I had decided that Zaibatsu and I go our separate ways. I had once more become an assassin and was ordered to kill John Nelson because he was a part of the Italian mafia."

"He was a part of a mafia gang?" asked Anna, surprised. "I didn't know about that."

"I was asked to pose as the bride because I was told that he was planning to kill the bride shortly after the wedding," said Nina. "And that's why I was told to kill him beforehand. My client must have gotten a tip from someone. I didn't know the bride was gonna be you."

"So you saved my life from that lying creep," said Anna. "He was gonna kill me?"

Then she started crying again but more uncontrollably. She didn't know that she dated someone who wanted to kill her. Shasha put an arm around her at that time.

"I can't believe he actually cheated me!" said Anna. "But how could he? I was he honey bunny..."

At this point Nina started to hug her too. Then Anna suddenly asked.

"You actually quit the Zaibatsu for a while?" asked Anna, shocked. "But why? And why did you go back?"

"I didn't want to be an accomplice of Heihachi Mishima's wrong doings, so I left," said Nina. "But when Jin returned and was gonna destroy evil for good, I returned. I always wanted to do good in the world, Anna. Even when I was an assassin. But at that time, I just didn't care who my client was, but it still ended good anyways."

There was silence at this and Anna finally saw the truth. She hugged Nina tightly and said that she was sorry too.

"I guess we're even now, sister," said Anna. "I don't see why we should continue fighting when we hadn't done anything wrong with each other in the first place."

"I'm sorry, Anna, for killing your love," said Nina. "But it was for your own good. I wish we could go back to old times."

Anna heartily agreed and went back home vowing that she would move in the next day.

"I'm glad that you got rid of that man for me," said Anna. "Thanks Nina. I'm gonna move in tomorrow."

"Then what is to become of your house?" asked Nina. "You can't just leave it empty like that?"

"Oh no, Nina," said Anna. "I'll put the house up for rent."

So the next day, Anna came with a huge amount of stuff. It wasn't surprising as Anna was always up to date with the latest fashion trends. Anna moved into the room in between Nina's and Shasha's.

"Why were you two fighting in the first place?" asked Shasha. "What was it that caused you to dislike each other?"

"When we were in college," began Nina. "I used to date this sweet guy named Adam Wilson."

"I was a junior there while Nina was two years ahead of me," continued Anna. We went to the same college back in Ireland."

"So we went on several dates together and had a great time," said Nina. "Everyone was jealous since he was the hottest guy and was very nice to everyone."

"I was jealous too," said Anna. "I wanted Adam all to myself. I just couldn't bear to see him with Nina back then."

"So she started to come around often wherever we were," said Nina. "It was becoming a nuisance as Anna always snuck in like a third wheel between us."

"One day, I heard Nina saying that Adam called her to this fancy restaurant for a date," went on Anna. "While Nina was getting ready for it, I snuck out and went to the restaurant myself. Adam hadn't arrived yet so I waited until he arrived. He was surprised to see me there instead of Nina."

"I wore my favourite cocktail dress and put on the best smelling perfume that I own and some makeup. I even took hours to do my hair."

"I had tried to seduce him into liking me," said Anna. "But he didn't like me. He kept asking where Nina was."

"When I arrived, I found Adam's car already parked outside together with Anna's scooter," continued Nina, getting sad. "I walked into the restaurant and found Anna and Adam kissing. They hadn't noticed that I had arrived and were embracing each other. I just stood there rather shocked and speechless."

"Both me and Adam hadn't noticed that Nina didn't come at all," said Anna. "When I got home late, I found Nina crying on the dining table with a big empty bottle of scotch next to her and with ruined makeup."
