THE LEGACY

MAKETA FOUNDATION is making its mark in helping people victims of Alzheimer's. They are being taken care of, in the KatIchiKeta Takuma Home a place where they are taken care of professionals. Research and Development of drugs, herbs, and therapy that will postpone the deterioration of the memory. Maketa is also taking the medicine herself. She forgot the past from the time she was taken care of by the Takuma couple but the days forward while she was under treatment, are being remembered by her. But as the treatment is going on, there are bits of the past that she can dream at night. The doctors predict that only Maketa can see her families face there is a tendency that she may remember.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a subtype of dementia in which the brain cells die, leading to declines in memory and mental abilities that worsen over time. The disease is irreversible and does not have a cure. Alzheimer's may start out mild, but as the disease worsens over time, it can severely affect a person's quality of life and eventually may lead to death. AD most often affects the elderly, which means we will see a significant increase in cases as we enter an aging population phase in many countries of the world. Japan, especially, will see fast growth in AD burden due to their large elderly population.

In Japan, 7% of men ages 75–79 years and 16% of men ages 90 years and older have Alzheimer's. In women, the trend is even steeper, with 7.3% of women ages 75–79 years and more than 59% in those ages 90 years and older have Alzheimer's. According to a report.

Ely and Tony tried to contact the Maketa Foundation about the Mother of Robert Del Fierro who has Alzheimer's. Rose wants her to be included if possible in Maketa's program to help her suspend the deterioration of her memory. Ely and Tony have to hit two birds in one stone, maybe this could be a way to enter Maketa's world to know if she is Martha, they are looking for so long.

The front desk of the foundation told them that she will send their request to Maketa through email because she is still in Europe having a tour.

Maketa replied to the email.

Looking at the documents presented which are the Psychiatric doctor's diagnosis and the death certificate of his father dying of cancer. Robert Del Fierro's mother will be admitted to the foundation's program.

Maketa then consulted her parents Katsuo and Ichika Takuma about her plan to build a "KatIchiKeta Takuma Home for Alzheimer's in the Philippines.

According to the latest WHO data published in 2018 Alzheimers/Dementia Deaths in the Philippines reached 1,047 or 0.17% of total deaths. The age-adjusted Death Rate is 1.98 per 100,000 of population ranks Philippines #177 in the world. 

Ichika finished her Stem Cell therapy. Katsuo was scheduled next. After two weeks Maketa was scheduled for Stem Cell therapy.

Katsuo trained Maketa to run all the businesses and Corporations which the Takuma is the major Stock Holder.

She is now the CEO of the Takuma empire under the Chairmanship of Mitsuo Takuma. A multi Million Dollar, Multinational, Import and export, and chain of Hotels and Restaurants in Japan and other countries.

There is a clause in the will and testament of Mitsuo and Ichika that Maketa must know her real family before the end of the year as determined by Mitsuo and Ichika Takuma. He must be sure that before they die, no one can deceive Maketa of false claims to her true blood relatives.

Maketa had been studying in the online studies in Europe, she finished in Business Administration in Europe top University.

" Maketa, my child, I want you to find your real family sooner so we can help them. Let's pray that God Almighty will guide us to the truth. May they find you and we can determine it's authenticity and we can let them be a part of our family. That is what we long for you." Katsuo said.

"Yes father, I'm praying also. but we must do it in a discreet manner so there will be no false claims." Maketa replied.

"Father, a certain Rose Zabala of the Philippines recommended and requested for a candidate Alzheimer patient in our program. I've read her story sent to me by a certain Ely Yamadachi, an executive of the Mitsui Food Corporation a major supplier of our restaurants and hotels. I'm touched by her concern to Alzheimer's patients and their family because her Mother died also of Alzheimer's. I want to meet her and if she can work for us to establish the foundation in the Philippines.

" Give me the details my child, I will look at it so I can include it in our next agenda in the board meeting," Katsuo said.

Ely, Tony, Rose, and Robert were so happy by the news that their Alzheimer patient was eligible for the Maketa Alzheimer program. Ely announced that their request was positively replied by Maketa herself in a video call from Japan. They have a chance now to meet Maketa in person. Ely has a plan that all of them, the whole Tiro family must be present to meet her. Let's do that, Tony said. Rose and Robert have no knowledge that Maketa was the possible wife of Tony and mother of Juan.

I will try to visit the Philippines. I want to learn what is this country all about.

"I'm really worried if Maketa's Alzheimer's symptoms will reappear, the board will make it as an issue about her Chairmanship if I'm gone. I want her husband or her son or daughter will be found sooner to be trained. What will happen after is not my concern if we did not found Maketa? I would have given the chairmanship and did not strive to continue this business. But because of her, I want to give this inheritance as my legacy to them. Her love to help the poor and the victims of Alzheimer's will be the legacy of the Takuma empire." Katsuo is typing his thoughts in his secret diary of his cellphone.
