Amota

Tomorrow would always be a mystery. Everyone always put on their best act to face tomorrow, but there was only one being for whom tomorrow was the present. She had no tomorrow, no future. She was the future teller of Angelic, gifted by God to Angelic. She is AMOTA.

Amota lived at the top floor of the palace in a place named the 'Amota hall'. Only Queen Angel and her two daughters were allowed to visit Amota, and Ever was her favorite because she was Amota's savoir.

The 'Amota hall' was the darkest and most silent place in the palace. There was something in the darkness that was like a promise, like the world before dawn. The hall was as a canvas rather than a finished work of art. It was like a distorted fragment of time, a place to rest without consequence. The darkness was thus similar to a sanctuary, a place to recharge and forget the things the world said had to be done.

"Amota!" Ever called while walking towards the large pond where Amota was.

There was only silence.

Ever walked into the Amota hall, she felt the coldness run down her spine, she could not fathom why. Usually summer in the Capital was so warm and loving.

"Amota!" She called again.

There was a sound of water splashing and the half octopus, half God Amota emerged out of the water.

Her hair was decorated with lotuses. She was kissing a shirtless soldier. As soon as she saw Ever, she pushed the shirtless man away and gestured for him to get out.

Ever grinned when she noticed the man, he bowed to her and scurried out of the hall.

"Darling." She said with a grin.

"Amota." Ever replied, sitting at the edge of the pond, stretching her legs and sinking them into the water.

"What made you come to me, darling?" Amota asked, swimming closer to Ever.

"I found Roop from the depths of the Darranoi." She paused and sighed, "You must know what I got to know about her, don't you?"

"Yes, I know."

"Did mum know about Roop?" Ever asked, looking desperate.

"Yes."

"Why didn't she tell us?" Ever asked, looking more desperate than before.

"Roop was exiled to Angelic as a punishment to your mother."

"What?"

"Your mother committed a sin and Roop is her punishment."

"What was the sin mum committed?"

"She'll tell when the time comes."

"How can Roop be a punishment?"

Amota laughed, "Roop is greedy and she'll try her best to take control of Angelic so she can showcase her power to God. She's planning to punish God through Angelic."

"How?"

"Angelic is the heart of the God. Imagine what will happen if Roop starts to destroy every part of Angelic."

"Why was Roop exiled?"

"She too committed a sin."

Ever became silent.

"Who do you like the most, Cael or Julian?" Amota asked out of nowhere.

Ever chuckled, "What?"

"Cael or Julian?"

"Amota, that's not the problem at hand." Ever yelled.

Amota took hold of Ever's hand; Ever felt the coldness of the water flowing throughout her body.

"Ever, destruction is coming. War will commence. Even though this is the result of your mother's sins, you'll be the one to pay." Amota sighed deeply and continued, "This is the commencement of the War of hearts, choose wisely on whose side you will fight."

It was a grand space, to say the least. The huge mahogany table took up most of the area in the huge royal dining room. Two tall, silver candelabras commanded attention from the center of the table, holding smooth white candles whose wax never dripped.

Queen Angel knocked her wine glass from her fork. Everyone became silent.

"I have a special announcement to make." The Queen announced.

"Is it about Roop?" Elizabeth whispered to Ever.

"I don't think so." Ever replied.

"Angel Earth, I would like to give you the honor to present us with your proposal for the marriage," Queen paused and took a sip from her wine glass, "The Earth children will get the honor to marry first."

Every Angel child stayed stunned, not being able to believe the words of the Queen.

Angel Earth stood from her seat, "Thank you sister. I'm the mother of two strong children; a handsome son and a beautiful daughter," She paused and sighed, taking a look at her two children with the pride, "Queen Angel, I would like to propose my son, Alexander Angelo Earth as the bridegroom for your youngest daughter, Elizabeth Angel."

"It's a huge pleasure, sister Earth. I accept the proposal from the bottom of my heart."

Elizabeth became startled. Alexander was never the husband she wanted to get married to. She wanted to protest but Ever's serious eyes warned Elizabeth to keep quiet. She looked at Alexander who was staring at his empty plate.

"And dear sister Air, I would like to propose my only daughter, the beautiful Alicia Angel Earth as the bride to your son Atlas Angelo Air."

"It's a huge pleasure, sister Earth. We accept the proposal." Angel Air replied.

"I'll ask the Grand Councilor to deal with the marriages, he'll fix a date within the next few days." Said the Queen.

"Marriages happen where there is love, isn't it?" Interrupted Alicia.

"What?" Queen Angel said.

"Who told such nonsense?" Angel Earth said furiously.

"I found that line in a Julian Roosevelt novel. Julian doesn't write nonsense." Alicia argued.

"They are fiction." The Queen spoke, finishing her glass of wine.

"I'm not in love with Atlas, I don't even know him." Alicia's gaze turned to Atlas, "Do you love me?"

He remained silent, staring at her huge black eyes.

"Look, he doesn't love me either. How can we get married?" Alicia laughed.

"Stop this, Alicia." Angel Earth yelled at Alicia.

"What's wrong with you Alicia?" Asked the Queen, filling wine into her empty wine glass.

Alicia rose from her seat, "Okay mum, I'll stop this." She walked out of the dining room.

Angel Earth rose from her seat to follow her daughter but Alexander stopped her, "Mum, let her be alone."

"I'm sorry everyone, I'm sorry Angel Air and Queen Angel for my daughter's poor behavior." Angel Earth apologized.

"It's okay, sister. Make sure that this marriage won't break her heart." Angel Air added.

Angel Earth sat on her seat, "I can't understand what's wrong with her." She said rubbing her temples.

"It's okay, sister. Just give her some more time." The Queen got up from her seat, "I need all the angels to come with me."

The Queen walked out of the living room, Angel Earth, Angel Fire and Angel Water followed her.

"Atlas," Angel Air said as she too got up from her seat, "make sure you talk to her."

"I will mum." Atlas agreed to his mum's suggestion.

Angel Air walked out of the room. The Angel children watched as the Angels, one by one, filed out of the room. A moment later Elizabeth stood from her seat, all eyes turned to her.

"Where are you going?" Ever asked her.

"I'm going to meet Richard." She replied walking out of the dining room.

Basilia watched her. The sound of Richard's name made butterflies erupt in Basilia's stomach. She wondered what made Elizabeth meet Richard. The desire grew in her to know why but she held her patience.

"Ever, did you find anything else about Roop?" Joseph asked.

"The woman we saw in the river wasn't Roop. That woman is Rosy, a Baker in the Capital." Ever replied making everyone focus their attention on her.

"What? Then who's she?" Michael asked eagerly.

"She went missing two days ago." Ever explained, "Roop was exiled from Heaven several years ago to Angelic. Her soul was removed from her body was sent here. She's using Rosy's body. Roop is the Goddess of Seduction. She can attract people sexually to her, both men and women."

"Do the Angels know this?" Albia asked when Ever finished explaining.

"Cedric told them." Ever replied.

"Now where is she?" Asked Parisa.

"Nobody knows. That's what we have to find." Cael replied instead of Ever.

"Before she causes destruction to Angelic." Ever added.

The palace was engulfed with various beautiful scents. The flower courtyard which was situated in the eastern wing of the palace was filled with the love of numerous attractive flowers. Most of the flowers had been planted by Cedric Roosevelt. Although Cedric was a Councilor, he loved flowering in his leisure time.

Cedric was watering his favorite plant. It was the Louisa flower plant which he had brought from the Air land. The leaves of the plant were green, its veins were peacock blue and flowers were sky blue. The plant only grew in the Air land but Ever Angel had cast a spell on it which allowed it to grow well in the Capital.

Alexander was standing next to Cedric but Cedric did not notice him. Cedric took the basket which was placed on the ground and began plucking Louisa flowers, collecting them into the basket. Alexander examined Cedric quietly.

His curls were midnight black and his eyes were cocoa brown. His skin was tanned. He had prominent cheekbones and a well-defined chin and nose.

"Why are you plucking them?" Alexander asked curiously.

Cedric was startled. Once he noticed that it was Alexander, he bowed and replied, "To make flower crowns, my lord."

"Flower crowns?" Alexander laughed.

"Yes, my lord."

Alexander had rage in him, he had the rage of getting married to someone he did not love; he had the rage of being the king of the Earth land. Alexander always wanted to get married to someone he loved from the bottom of his heart but unfortunately he had never found that love. Cedric became the victim of Alexander's rage. Alexander uprooted the flower plant, tore it into pieces and smashed it onto the ground.

The flower basket fell from Cedric's hands onto the ground.

"What did you do? Louisa! Louisa!" He bent on to his knees and gathered the torn plant into his arms.

"This was my favorite plant! I loved this one. Do you know the value of this plant?" He did not want to fall apart but he had no option, tears poured down through his cheeks; Louisa has been a part of his life.

Cedric's tears broke Alexander's heart. His tears were like poison entering into Alexander's lungs. How could a man cry? Alexander had never seen a man cry. How could a man cry for the loss of a flower plant?

Alexander placed his hand on Cedric's shoulder, "Hey, you don't have to cry for it."

"You don't know the value of Louisa!" Cedric yelled.

He completely forgot that he was yelling at the future king of the Earth land.

Alexander held out his hand and green colored glitter particles emerged from his palm and they touched the dead plant. The green shining particles gave life to Cedric's Louisa. The shining particles took Louisa from Cedric's arms and allowed the Louisa's roots to dig into the soil. The plant was now standing erect with its pride, more beautifully.

Cedric wiped his tears and walked closer to the reincarnated Louisa, she smiled at Cedric which made Cedric explode with happiness.

Alexander walked away. He felt foolish and ashamed for his actions, he had no idea why he did what he did, his mind was scattered.

"My lord." Cedric called Alexander, "Thank you."

"You're most welcome." He said without looking back, walking out of the flower yard.

A beautiful face. Well defined, with a sharp jaw and angular cheekbones. The complexion of his skin contrasting well with his oceanic eyes. He looked down for a moment to pour himself a drink, bringing the alcohol to his lips. The burning sensation pouring through his throat, creating a warm feeling deep inside his stomach.

Erana entered into the room, topless. She was only covering the bottom part of her body with a pink silk cloth. Her dark black hair was like a waterfall along her back.

She hugged her husband, he showed no reaction.

"Chertoff." She muttered.

He took a sip from the glass of alcohol. She kissed his cheek, he pushed her away. Disappointedly she lay on the bed and laughed, annoying Chertoff.

"Don't you want to have some fun?" Erana asked, touching her breasts.

There was no reply. Chertoff took another sip from his glass of alcohol.

"Chertoff." She called him. He rose from his chair and threw the wine glass at Erana.

He huffed, closing his eyes and pulling all his rage into him.

"I'm not Michael to play with you." He said, tears trembling inside his eyes.

A frozen storm hit Erana's heart. How did he know about her relationship with Michael? She stared at him like a helpless animal. The world fell away, thunder struck in between them.

Chertoff opened his mouth to bark every single word he had been planning to say for years but he stopped himself, instead of speaking he walked out of the room leaving Erana with a thousand questions, struggling to find answers.
