Chapter 55 : The Bounty Hunters

Ramenman flinched when he saw Kaizo's portrait on the screen.

"So, he joined the competition after all," he mumbled.

"What? I didn't hear anything about this," said Lahap.

"He's probably hiding it from everyone. I'm sure even Axion didn't know about this," said Ramenman.

"Well, that's interesting," said Phoenix, still munching on his popcorn. "Let's see if his fighting skill is as good as his circus skill. Although, knowing him, he is probably quite a trouble for other competitors."

"Oh yeah. He always ranked 1st in our station," said Ramenman. "Still... the competitors in this tournament are not the kind of fighters that can be easily beaten by a cadet."

"Alright! Thank you everyone for waiting. We apologize for the delay. Now, the fight on B block is about to begin. Fighters! Enter the arena!" Pandora yelled.

Different aliens begin to enter the arena.

"Fighters already entered the arena. If you get thrown off to outside the white line, you're eliminated. If you pass out in the arena, you're eliminated. If you die in the arena, you will also be eliminated. And in hundreds of fighters, there could only be one winner," said Pandora.

"Now, let the fight BEGIN!"

The sound of trip gong resonates. Few fighters begin to randomly pick an opponent. Others aiming for a few particular competitors.

Battle cries filled the coliseum. Sounds of clashing metals resonate. Kaizo, relying on his speed, swiftly punched his opponents. With one accurate single hit, they fall unconscious. Axion's eyes focused on following Kaizo.

"Get the bounty hunter!" yelled a gladiator.

"If we can beat Noche's partner, the battle would be easier!" another fighter yelled.

Few gladiators charged at Kaizo at the same time. His reputation bearing Noche's name has put a spotlight on him. Kaizo pulled a steel sword that he borrowed from Circus Maxima's Gladiator weaponry. In one single swing, he put down multiple opponents.

"Is there anyone you're interested in, Lady Axion?" Albi asked.

"The bounty hunters seem promising. Also, your friends Titus seem to get by," said Axion as she pointed at Titus.

Titus relies mostly on his punch. His fighting style is boxing, so he doesn't wield a weapon.

"Titus is strong. If it's a battle of strength, he would certainly win," said Albi.

"Ah, but this isn't just a battle of strength," said Axion.

Axion's gaze moves at the A-class bounty hunter, Mars. Just like Kaizo, his fame as class A bounty hunter has made fighters focus on him. Few fighters make a team and begin charging at Mars.

"Many fighters believe that if they can beat the strongest competitors first, the victory would be theirs. But look at them. Fighting one person with big numbers won't change the result if they're still a brainless fool," said Axion as she watches multiple fighters easily beaten by Mars.

Albi laughs at Axion's sharp words. "Your honesty never ceases to enlighten me, my lady."

"Making a team in a battle royal is a cheap trick!" yelled a few audiences.

"Yeah, that's cheating! No team in a battle royal!" another audience yelled.

Some of them begin booing.

"Heh. Complain all you want. The staff of this event won't do anything about it. There's no rule that forbids you to make a team and fight in a battle royale," Ramenman sneered.

"Still, your friend doesn't seem to be bothered fighting multiple opponents at once," said Phoenix.

Kaizo swung his sword and slashed many fighters. The battle is already going on for some time, but he still hasn't used his energy power yet.

"I wonder how long Kaizo can hide his energy power in this competition," Ramenman mumbled. "If he used his energy power in this competition, he might won't be able to do an incognito mission again."

"Another punch from Titus! The iron fist is unstoppable," Pandora yelled.

"Heh! Is this all you got?" Titus laughed.

Suddenly, a fighter swings a punch at Titus. Titus managed to parry.

"Ooohhh... someone has come to stop the iron fist!" Pandora yelled.

The camera hovers over the arena and two fighters appear on the big screen.

"It's the duo, Pupu Punch and Kiki Kick!" Pandora yelled.

"Heh! So, it's a two on one," said Titus.

"Titus! This is where you lose," said Pupu Punch.

"Yeah. We the PuKi Brothers will finish you here," Kiki Kick adds.

Pupu Punch charged at Titus. He managed to parry his punch. But Kiki Kick came running fast. Unable to match his speed, Titus got kicked. Titus groaned as he fell to the ground.

Suddenly, Mars accidentally bumps on Kiki Kick.

"Hey! Watch where you're going!" Kiki Kick furiously yelled.

Mars looked at him without a word. He turned at him and began swinging his sword. Slightly startled, Kiki Kick jumps back, nimbly evading Mars's attack. With Kiki Kick occupied by Mars. Titus fights Pupu Punch one on one.

"Kiki?!!" Pupu Punch yelled.

Kiki Kick's movement is fast. But Mars is even faster. Mars keeps stabbing his sword, not giving Kiki Kick a chance to look away.

Pupu Punch gritted his teeth.

"Looks like it's just you and me," Titus smirked.

Being used by fighting as a team, Pupu Punch and Kiki Kick got disadvantages by fighting one on one. They soon got beaten by Titus and Mars.

"Heh. If it's punching, no one is better than me!" Titus laughed.
