Chapter 41 : Help

"EAT THEM LIONEL! EAT THEM ALL! Today, you get an all you can eat buffet," Mademoiselle Mendoza yelled.

The Lion swings its front paw at Kaizo. Kaizo dodged the first attack. But the lion is fast enough to bump him with its face. Kaizo got thrown to the audience seats. Kaizo tried to get back up. They all looked at the lion in fear. The Lion growled.

The albino cactus alien charged at the lion, followed by the others.

"No! Wait!" Axion yelled.

But they already attack the lion. The lion slapped them with its paw. Throwing them all aside. The lion walked towards Kaizo. Axion runs to Kaizo and releases her protective spell before the lion stomps on him.

"You shouldn't have come here. What are you anyway? A police? A spy? Ha! No matter. You'll die tonight! Any last words?" said Mademoiselle Mendoza.

Suddenly, the rest of the Kaizo team barge in, along with Spicy Gluten's team.

"Captain!" Ramenman exclaimed.

"Get the lion!" Spicy Gluten yelled.

Her team lunged first at the lion.

"Ugh, do they always do as they please," said Ramenman. He ran to join Kaizo.

Lahap began to shoot. Rum fights off Mendoza's crew. They may be outnumbered. But Kaizo's team has better-organized experience in fighting.

"You guys ok?" Ramenman asked.

"Yea. Good timing," said Axion as she lowered her shield.

Axion looks around. She sighed. "What a mess."

"What do we do now?" Rum asked.

"ALRIGHT! DOWN! All of you!" said Spicy Gluten. She is sitting on the lion as she whips around.

"That girl knows how to tame a lion?" Ramenman mumbled.

"I figured. Her mission is about animals. Of course she'll learn a thing or two," said Axion.

"Go. Capture them! Make sure no one escapes," said Admiral Tarung.

"Why is Admiral Tarung here?" Axion asked.

"He's with us," said Olivia. "Actually, we've been looking out for this circus."

"For the lion," said Axion.

"Yes," Olivia replied.

"Good work! You all managed to put down this circus," said Admiral Tarung.

"I'd say I could've done it better if she didn't barge in first," said Spicy Gluten as she looked at Axion.

"It was me. I'm the one who started the fight," said Kaizo. "I lost my composure. I apologize."

Spicy looked at Kaizo. Not impressed having him standing up for Axion.

"I'll hear the full report later. For now, you're dismissed," said Admiral Tarung.

"Yes, sir!"

"Cirque du Sombre is taken down. Mademoiselle Mendoza's crew are now captured. The kidnapped victim will be escorted back to their family. As for the victim of enslavement, we will find a place for them to stay," said Admiral Maskmana through the communicator.

"I understand," Axion replied short.

"Is there anything else?"

"Will Spicy Gluten stay?" Axion asked.

"Perhaps. She found Circus Maxima suspicious. Maybe she'll stay for a while."

"I see..."

"You might as well try snooping around circus Maxima too," said Admiral Maskmana.

Axion let out a distressed sigh. "I'll look into it."

"So, we're not going to get punished?" Ramenman asks.

"No," said Admiral Maskmana. "Kaizo's action saved a life. Even though tonight's event might give warning to the rest of the kidnappers around Planet Circus, it doesn't remove the fact that Kaizo's action was done under urgent conditions. You just need to work harder on finding the rest of the victim."

"Any news about my side of the investigation?" Ramenman asked.

"I've sent your investigation data to the intergalactic police. With the evidence you gave us, they will be there soon, raiding L'ultima Cena Restaurant."

"Do we get to join the raid?" Rum asked.

"Only if needed. Otherwise, focus on your mission."

"Understood," said Rum.

"Now that everything is clear, I'll be off now. Good luck," said Admiral Maskmana.

The communicator turned off. Ramenman, Rum, and Axion let out a tired sigh.

Ramenman looked at Axion. "Aren't you supposed to train for your Romeo and Juliet act?"

Axion gives a quick smile and then looks down.

"Maybe you should give up that part and improvise something else," said Rum.

"With Spicy Gluten here?" Axion shook her head. "I guess not."

"You do something about it," said Ramenman at Kaizo.

"Hm?"

"It's your show. You decide. You're going on stage with Axion or with Spicy Gluten," said Ramenman.

"Phoenix is the one who decides our role," said Kaizo.

"Phoenix would agree on anyone you pick as a partner," said Ramenman.

"Even though Spicy Gluten might be a better option than me?" Axion asks.

They all looked at Axion.

Axion shrugs. "Well, she's... clearly can act better than me."

"Don't tell me you're giving up on the role..." said Ramenman.

"I'm just saying. Kaizo can attract crowds with Spicy Gluten while I'm somewhere else looking for another face to punch," said Axion.

Kaizo flinched. "No!" he said abruptly.

Axion looked at Kaizo with slight confusion.

"You'll stay my partner. Let's go train for our show," said Kaizo as he harshly pulled Axion.
