Among these humans, I had to learn the difference. My skin, like my parents, was a dark shade of brown--this I had learned from the human books, titled colors--my eyes were a pale violet colour; a trait passed on from my mother's bloodline. While my hair came from my fathers, a pink that turned darker as it reached the ends. Though it became more like a custom as I took care to shave it close to the scalp, as my mother did before. It is said that this is something done as a test to all pups throughout my mother's bloodline. They would shave theirs either until they reached the moons of fifteen, then they allowed it to grow over time and allow first their fathers to groom them when they first shifted to their sheep side, while the mother groomed their fur.

I had never gotten the pleasure of my fathers grooming my hair at fifteen because they had died.

I'd never join the hunt in finding my mates because I was not a true wolf, or did I have a pack, id-

I stiffened, forcing myself to forget such useless things.

I need to shake those sad thoughts away. This little human will become my world.

A true smile filled my face as I tried to distinguish his race of human. The humans had races, black, Indian, Asian, white and mixed. Still, I could not tell the difference. His skin was snow white, his eyes were wide, slanted, and dark. The hair on his head is dark and straight though a pitiful few. I pursed my lips in confusion trying to figure out his race. The one who birthed him, her face was to deformed to pay much heed. What was he?

It is a pity he is not a wolf, if he were a wolf, I could say he was alpha, beta, omega... A hunter, carer or ruler... The top middle or bottom tier... But human? All I knew was that he had soft white skin with the tinge of grey. Perhaps I can look around at the books and see what characteristics of human he had.

Either way, I knew one thing; wolves, werewolves, we never mixed, we couldn't. The world I was born in was harsh but easy to understand.

Among humans, to breathe is a struggle. One could pretend to befriend when in truth they were foe.

When have I left here since entry going among the planes to get some sun and fresh air.? When have I ever-

My thoughts were cut off as I walked around with the small human.

I looked down at him. His eyes closed now, so peaceful his breathing sounded even and around me quiet. It was a relief that he no longer cried.

Checking that the large bag had everything it needed. I then placed it on my shoulder, making sure to check it at least five times so that everything that we would need would be on hand.

With the other filled with various essentials like food, extra clothes, lotion, and other necessities. Making sure sufficient were within for the small human.

Then I made my way to the section where most of the bookstores were, which in itself was just two floors below. It was good that those moving steps were still working.

It was much smoother with the small human and shouldering a bag while dragging another.

Almost there I manoeuvred a bit by stepping over fallen books, bodies and fallen rumble: it was a mess after the "shake" and all the humans dying.

Finally, after a while, I found the book on small humans and a hardcover at that! The book on the front was spelt b-a-b-i-e-s... Hmm, babies.

Smiling, I flipped through the pages, reading the characters I had grown accustomed to. The human language was extremely easy to learn. Unlike wolf speak since I lack the vocals needed. Either way, the point was moot now and that part of my life has passed.

With a quick look, I took notice to see if the small human still slept, seeing that the small human still felt satisfied proceeding with the task at hand.

Plucking a book from its place, I began to read the contents which contained everything I needed to know for "babies".

From memory, I had seen many human females walk around with the small humans close or pushed them in a contraption.

I've been puzzled by this for a while, so flipping through the book, I paused when I saw it... Ah so it was called a "baby stroller" lists of names and types were listed, each can be folded to make it easier to store or carry... One looked like a small portable bed... Hm... That suited the small human well, while another for a slightly larger child.

Maybe I can find this "baby stroller" somewhere in the airport either way that can come later.

For now, I settled for a cloth large enough to wrap around the small human where I can tie him to me. Freeing up my hand while I walked around. Finding what I needed, I then tied him to me gently. Careful with my movements so that he would not wake again, freezing when I jostled him too much, but the small one was still asleep even when I moved him.

He was such a deep sleeper, wouldn't he normally wake?

Sigh, well, either way, it was a boon that I will gladly accept. Slightly uncomfortable with the small human on my chest I fixed him a bit more until the feeling was slightly more comfortable after all my hands were now free and he was fixed against me, there will be no way I might drop him...at least here is to hope.

Hands fully free, I then proceeded with reading as much as I could before the watch on my hand vibrated and I moved to prepare the bottle.

Time passed like that. Learning how to care for this human child grew easier. I noticed he was not difficult to please as a child but one who had little demands; eating, sleeping, and the little noises he made.

It has been two days with him; I had felt like he was mine; he was growing so well, faster than I would think.

Checking him, he was healthy, his skin healing well. Looking around the airport I found many of the dead, the stench enough to make me retch as much as possible. I avoided them a bit fearful that the child would somehow become infected.
