Theo has broken Lucy’s heart because he wants her away from the castle & he thinks he is protecting her, especially with the chaos Cal & him plan to cause. He is saying hurtful things because making her hate him seems the easiest way to create a rift between them. Dare I say, in sacrificing Lucy he is making his own heart ache. He thinks she’ll be safe with Samuel but little does he know he is helping to push her into the arms of a monster!
