Chapter 109: Mercury Wands

A mercury wand includes one or more amalgams of mercury with one of the physically-compatible mystic metals (bronze, copper, gold, platinum, or silver) that are used as settings for mystic crystals.

Mercury (also known as quicksilver, where the word quick means "alive") has the curious property of being liquid under normal circumstances. In its fluid form, mercury is useless for wand making. Instead, mercury is always combined with other mystical metals to form a solid amalgam.
