Carla Smith is an orphan who stays in the St. Mary's homage for abandoned children, ever since she was a baby of a few months.

She will be in the final year of her secondary high school education this year. She never knew who her parents were and

Ever since she came to this orphanage home, she wondered about her parents. She thought about whether they will come to find her anytime.

She wondered if her parents missed her while they were on some vocation. Or else someone got to kidnap her and landed in this orphanage.

But she felt sad thinking, whether they are alive or do they even remember her.

There is no chance to remember anything about her parents, as she was a child of a few months at that time.

On top of all this, no one was willing to adopt the baby and give her a home that she yearned for when she was young.

As time passed, she learned not to get her hopes high. Carla also learned not to dwell in the past and focus on her happiness in the present.

She is not the type of person who stays in the past. She learned to live the life fullest. But she never stopped thinking whether her parents had ever missed her or think about her all this time.

Unlike teenagers of her age, she never liked parties and wild fantasies. Instead, she buried herself in studies.

She is a brilliant student who always on top of her grades. She has fewer friends, which are equal to none only because of her lack of interaction.

Carla always wanted to get a good education and get to work in the right place.

Today is the first day of her senior year, and all of her classmates were enthusiastic about starting, whereas, she found this hilarious. 

'What is there to be so excited, isn't it just a new year with same months and weeks' she thought to herself. 

At 7'o clock, Carla woke up and went to get fresh for the school. 

None of the people in the orphanage talks with her because of the fair complex and beautiful red eyes.

It doesn't matter to her as long as no one hates her. The orphanage has a strong foundation and lots of funds to care for the children.

So people here can stay as long as they want until they can take care of themselves.

The head of the orphanage is a very kind woman in her late 40s who takes care of everything. She treats Carla as her child ever since she arrived.

She took care of Carla, as she is the first baby to arrive in this orphanage after she took charge of it.

The older woman's name is Romina, and she is the last descendant for St. Mary's homage to children.

Romina never got married and a lawyer by profession. She wanted to serve society and help people who are in need and strict against bullying.

Carla is very thankful to her since she is the only one who wishes good for her. All these years, Carla didn't know what could have happened to her if there is no Romina.

Thinking all these., she came out of her room, walking towards the dining table for breakfast.

Carla never bothered about Romina's past and is grateful to her. Romina came out of her office at the same time as Carla.

As soon as she saw her, Carla hugged her and asked her to have breakfast with her.

Romina loved this child a lot, as she never got a chance to get adopted and experience familial love.

Hence, she became her mother and looked after her. Because of her red eyes, no one was ready to accept her as their own and adopt her.

While having breakfast, Romina gave the same everyday instructions.

Then she dropped her on the school before she leaves for her office. The St. Mary's primary and secondary campus is the school that is also associated with St. Mary's homage.

Romina is the principal as she got all the properties under St. Mary's legal.

Romina adopted Carla when she was ten years old. Since then, they stood for each other and supported each other in all the difficulties they had faced.

St. Mary's primary and secondary high schools, along with the homage, are famous in the Winden city.

The city is in the far south where it seems like; the town has merged into wild animals world.

There were also rumors that the city belongs to werewolves.

Most of them in the city believe it might be true, whereas some think it's a myth circling for centuries.

They saw nothing unusual in the daybreak. But as soon as night comes, no one dared to know what's happening precisely in those dark shady woods behind the city.

Romina dropped Carla at the secondary school section's main entrance.

She then drove back to the building where her office is there.

No one in the campus dares to bully or provoke Carla, as the principal of their school is her adoptive mother.

Every year's first day will have a session for introducing the new student who joins the school.

Some people are very jealous of Carla because of her relation to Romina.

Romina is a very strict principal. She never tolerates bullying and other stuff that happens in other schools.

According to Romina, young people should be sportive, enthusiastic, and ready to learn new things.

They shouldn't involve themselves in drugs, bullying, and other immoral things.

If anyone found out doing such stuff, the consequences will be severe.

It's already 9 a.m. when Carla reached her classroom, and some people are looking at her like she has a grown pair of horns with a red tail.

Rumors are circling her that she is a witch, and whoever dares to be near to her she will vanish them into thin air.

Her appearance added more mystery to the rumor, seeming it as real. Romina wanted to take care of these rumors, but Carla stopped her, saying:

"Let it be if I can't handle these simple silly rumors; what will happen to me in the future..?"

Instead of clarifying the rumors, she tackled them, adding more to it and making it impossible for everyone to approach her.

Even though obstacles were here and there, she handled them with ease.

She is the future representative of St. Mary's, so she should be more confident about her appearance and more robust to handle hurdles.

It is a routine to let new students introduce themselves on the first day of every new academic year.

There is a new system in the entire St. Mary's schools for splitting students into sections.

The professors have faith in student's hard work, dedication, and grades.

It's impossible to manipulate their grades using influences from outside.

Carla is in the section-a of class 12th, and a new student will join in her class.

The first class is an English class, as usual. Then there will be a foreign language class followed by the students' significant subjects classes.

Carla found her usual seat on the left corner towards the window.

Sitting there, she can see the forest behind the school.

She always found that something is going on there, and she cannot put it into words.

She used to be in a daze whenever she looks into the forest. For everyone it seemed a normal forest with tall tress but for Carla, how to put in words, she felt "mysterious and alluring."

Carla used to get a feeling that she doesn't belong to this world and should have been somewhere else.

When she was in her world, the English professor came into the class, and everyone greeted him.
