As we are leaving the conference room, the Dwarves take the initiative to come over and discuss a few things regarding the Elementals that have been bothering them. After a few minutes of discussion, we come to an agreement that after we return to Mount Dragspear and settle post-conference affairs that me, Milla, and Lia will head towards the Dwarven mountain where the Elementals have been causing problems. With an agreement that we would arrive at the Dwarven Mountains in a little less than a month after we return, we go our separate ways as our group stops by the skewer stand before finally returning to the hotel.
"So why did you even agree to assist the Dwarves in dealing with the Elementals that have been attacking them?" Hardly giving me anytime to sit down, Milla asks the moment we enter our room.
"I suppose there isn't any harm in mentioning it to you. It has to do with my race as an Elemental Spirit Dragon. I can grow stronger by accommodating Elemental Essence, this can be obtained through two methods. First, by consuming and absorbing the power of an Elemental Root. And secondly, by killing and absorbing the power of an Elemental. Once I have the essence of the eight main elements I can evolve again. This gives me two options regarding the Dwarves, either I fight them for their root or just kill the Elementals. Fighting a few Elementals is just easier and more advantageous than antagonising the Dwarves."
"Alright, if that's the case I won't push the issue. But what are you going to do about your plan to rob the Lausiel Empire? Since it was decided this would be a personal endeavour, your basically on your own for this. While, on a purely technical basis I can help you in my capacity as the Boss of the Dragon Bandits, but everyone knows that the Dragon Bandits are equivalent to the Khanate these days. Moreover, we don't have any contacts over in Lausiel nor do we have any naval power. So even if I could help and disregard the political concerns, there isn't much I can do."
"Not a problem, I've got everything worked out in my head. Just gonna swim may my over and find my way to an outpost and rob them. Or I can just look for one of there ships and take the weapons its crew have. But the best case scenario is that I find the place where they have been doing the research and development so that I can directly take the newest stuff."
"I don't think it will be as easy as you make it sound. But I won't argue with it since I know it won't go anywhere. Anyways, since you managed not to spend a day in prison we can leave earlier than I originally planned. So let's go and get ready to depart. And where is the carriage I wanted you and Lia to buy a couple of days ago? I have yet to see any new carriage around the hotel over the past few days."
"I'll go out and get it ready"
Heading out from the room, I prepare to get the carriage out but why did Lia look like she is about to throw up when the carriage got brought up? Right outside the hotel where the other carriages are parked, I go and open my to an impossible degree and regurgitate the large carriage that we go a couple of days ago. There are a few onlookers, but it seems most of them passed out after watching me and others look like they've seen a ghost. I use my Elemental Manipulation to clean the carriage up and remove any bits of saliva that had been left, making the carriage look as good as new... even though it is actually new. After a few more minutes Milla and the rest come out with there luggage.
With all the luggage packed away and the carriage safely hooked up to the Drakes that had used to pull the carriage we set out for our return trip. Much like our travels coming to the Capital, our return was rather uneventful. However, when we were getting close to Mount Dragspear, the time remaining on my shapeshift was about to run out, so I spent the last portion of the trip back to the mountain in my true form.
I spent the next few weeks just lazing around without much care, just waiting for the cooldown on my humanoid form to finish. A few people came to me asking about the elements and how to increase the potency of the elemental magic and since I didn't have much else to do during this time I helped them out. They listened to my words with a degree of seriousness that I haven't seen from someone trying to learn in quite a while and they actually ended up increasing the power of their magic. If only my old students tried nearly as hard as these guys, maybe they could do something other than mess around in their parent's basement.
With my shapeshift coming off of cooldown soon, Milla prepares the carriage and together with me and Lia we set out for the Dwarven Capital, The Great Forge.
An unusually short chapter, this is due to me only getting 3 hours of sleep for some reason.
Have a nice day everyone and remember to get more sleep than me.
