An hour later, the three left the living room and joined the reception hall. Frank had a disgruntled and scowl face, while the two brothers had a big smile.

Gabriel greeted him and Elias nodded to him.

And the two sneaked in between the guests, from time to time one of them called out to them and introduced them to these children. After some ten minutes, they found themselves in front of their father, Viscount Ademisault, Arolde. He was, as always, dressed in his aristocratic costume, his stern eyes fixed on the twins who approached him.
"Where did you two go? Are you leaving on your birthday? Fortunately, you got back on time!"

After saying that, the viscount straightened up, bulged his chest and spoke loudly eloquently.

Thank you all! " He said the last words of his speech, looking at the two brothers and smiling gently.
After that, the noise of applause filled the room, the bards began to play again, the servants to be served and the guests to chat.

The party continued for a few more hours, then the guests left one after the other.

Shortly after, in the viscount's office, the two looked at their father with expectation. The latter showed two box, one relatively long and thin, the other shorter but thicker.

The two threw themselves on the chests, Gabriel opened it quickly and cried out in surprise.
"Woaa, it is so beautiful!" he took out of it a finely forged silver dagger, a tree was carved, its roots surrounded the handle and these branches extended on the white blade.
"It is a goblin dagger, it belonged to your grandfather, you must take good care of it, I doubt that you will be able to find a better blade in your life, the goblins do not easily sell their works."
Elias opened his chest and took out 3 big books. They were "Guide to basic potions by Elga Hortescue", "Guide to basic rituals by Omer Volvac" and finally "Study of potions and rituals by Rusell ----------". The last name on the last book is crossed out, it was obviously removed by someone for some reason.
"* Yes, that's great, I will finally be able to learn something new! These books must be worth a small fortune, at that age, information is transmitted from master to apprentice, books are very rare. *"
"Yeah !! Thank you father it's great! Haha, exactly what I wanted!"
"Yes Elias, they were difficult to get, take good care of them."
Strangely his gaze stayed a few more seconds on the last book, but Elias did not think much about it and quickly nodded, clearly more interested in the contents of the books.
"Well, now that you have your gifts, go to bed! Otherwise your mother will yell again! Gabriel, tomorrow you will learn the sword with a fencing master, Elias, you will read your books tomorrow, now, in bed! "
And the two rushed to their rooms.

The next morning Elias, who hadn't slept much, had big dark circles under his eyes. As he made his way to the dining room, he ran into Gabriel who had bandages on his hands and a cut on his cheek.

The two looked at each other in disbelief then laughed loudly.
"Instead of foolishly laughing, come and eat, kids!"

And since then, the two have followed a strict daily routine, art, etiquette, math, French, English, Spanish and sword lessons or reading his books in the case of 'Elias.

This is the first entry in my journal of potions and rituals study, here I will report all my experiences and my attempts which will allow me, I hope, to merge the magic of rituals and the brewing of potions.
I have already noticed that one of the most important steps in potion making is the infusion of magic using some minor spell. From my first observations, there is a good chance that the magic infusion will follow the basic principles of ritual magic, therefore I wondered what would happen if, using runes engraved on a cauldron, we guided the flow of magic in a specific way.
Experience n ° 1: calming potion and runes of the Zen spirit ritual.
Ingredient lists: 3 sprigs of lavender, a crocodile heart, 3 peppermint leaves and 30 mL of water.
I engraved the runes on the cauldron with crocodile blood to increase the bond.
Preparation of the potions, step n ° 1: ...
Results: The color is slightly darker, which shows that the effect has been increased, but not within a sufficiently large margin to be satisfying, I continue my research.
Seeing these three books, Elias was ecstatic, he had never even heard of ritual magic in the original story, but perhaps this ancient magic was lost after more than a thousand years. Anyway, this Rusell looks amazing, he was looking forward to reading more!
