18 Controlling Mana

After having lunch, Daniel went to the library since he had a lot of free time. Opening the grand doors, he noticed that not many people were there.

The library itself was extremely grand. There were so many shelves that you couldn't actually see the walls. The shelves were filled to the brim with books and nothing else. In total, the library comprised of 4 floors, each being a respective field of study. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that this place had the most books in the world.

The first floor consisted of books mostly about records, experiments, creatures, and objects.

The second floor was mostly for fighting which included many types of books that analyzed the many different types of fighting styles in the world.

The third and fourth floor was solely based on magic study. The third floor was free for all students to use but the fourth required you to be a senior.

Daniel went up the stairs to the third floor. Passing by the many bookcases and shelves, he headed straight to the Formation Magic area.

Going through the books, he finally found the one he was looking for after a couple minutes.

Going to a nearby desk, he opened the book and started reading.

The Functions of Mana, By: Notwen Caasi

If you are reading this book, then that must mean you are a beginner mage apprentice. No worries, this book will teach you everything there is about mana.

To start, lets go over the magical dictionary.

Rudimentary Basics:

Magical Particles - The natural essence of nature.

Mana - Refined and condensed magical particles that have been stored in the body.

Magic - A result caused by transforming the mana into something else entirely.

Willpower - The power that allows some humans to control magic particles.

Magic Pores - The body is filled with pores. There are also pores that are meant specifically for mana.

Mana Storage - Also known as the mana organ, the heart.

Realms of Capacity and Quality:

Magic Circulation - Although similar to channeling, it is the process that converts surrounding magic particles into mana.

Mana Compression - Once the body's mana storage has reached its capacity, the mana can be further refined which enhances its quality and compacts it allowing space for more mana.

Mana Body - Once mana reaches a certain level of quality, it becomes small enough to fit into the cells of the body. Allows the entirety of the body to store mana.

Mana Aura - The stage after Mana Body. Very few have reached this level. When in the state of mana surplus, it is possible to exert the mana outside of the body. Requires Mana Sentience.

Mana Embodiment - The rumored realm that the greatest wizard, Merlin had achieved. This is only a hypothetical idea that was suggested from examining the corpse of the first and only 9th Circle Wizard. No one truly knows what it is but some theorize that it allowed one to have infinite mana.

Realms of Control:

Mana Channeling - By using a certain amount of willpower, one can move the mana around the body. By focusing mana at a single point, the body subconsciously opens a magic pore that allows mana to flow out of the concentrated area. It is possible to keep the mana intact(temporarily) when it is out of the body. It is necessary to cast spells.

Mana Circulation - The second level of control. The body is now subconsciously moving the mana around the body. When you wish it to be somewhere, the mana will flow to that area almost instantaneously.

Instant Cast - The third level of control. Once the willpower has reached a certain level, you can control the magic pores that open for mana to pass through. This allows spells to be cast instantaneously. When mana is out of the body, you can control it(temporarily) as you wish.

Multi Cast - You can cast multiple spells with great willpower. More spells correlate to a greater willpower. Allows mana outside of the body to stay dormant for as long as the creator is alive. Utilizing certain techniques, it is possible to keep mana permanently in place if undisturbed.

Mana Sentience - An ability that all 2nd Circle Wizards have upon making the breakthrough. The mana is imbued with their own will. You can even control other people's mana if your will is stronger. If not intentionally destroyed, mana outside of your body will remain permanent.

Now that you have a rough idea on the realms of magic, lets get onto Mana Channeling.

It is recommended that you have at least 10 points in willpower. You can measure it by using the status mirror.

The only thing you need to channel mana is imagine it. Imagine the mana in the heart flowing out and into the body part. That's all there is to it! Amazing isn't it?

To reach Mana Circulation, you have to...

...

I closed the book there. I was familiar with most the vocabulary but the book about magic that I bought from the system talked nothing about the realms included in magic.

Sitting there, I decided to try channeling the mana.

[Ding!]

[Learned: Mana Channeling(Common)]

As I had expected, my willpower must be pretty high since back in my past life, school was extremely stressful and I had to manage myself a lot.

'Now that I think about it. Why doesn't my status window have a willpower stat?'

[Rarity of True Dragon Eyes(Supreme) are not high enough]

I kept channeling my mana around my body until it was around dinner time. Right now, Mana Channeling was somehow already at level 4.

'Wasn't this too easy?'
