Your Love Changed Me

I still remember the day that changed my whole life.

A few years ago:

It's my first day in college and I have taken admission in Engineering College for my graduation. My aunt dropped me in the college along with her son. Me and my cousin ( Aarav) have joined the same college, but we have different branches. He is in the Mechanical engineering department and I am in Computer Science. The college campus is very vast and the environment is very fresh and green, there are trees planted all over the campus. Both girls and boys hostels are inside the campus with a good distance from the Academic buildings. There are total 3 hostels for girls. I am in the "Fairy Hostel". It has four floors. The top floor and the third floor is for the first-year girls. The other two floors are for 3rd-year girls. My aunt has now left and I am in my hostel room. There are two lobbies on each floor: front and back lobby, and each lobby has 10 rooms. Every room has the same structure: two single beds, 2 study tables, 2 chairs, 2 cupboards, 1 fan, and 2 windows with white paint on the walls and the ceiling. Here I first met my roommate Deera ( a cute, chubby girl) Actually I was also a little chubby at that time. Although our hometown is the same and our fathers are good friends, but Deera and I never met before.

Her three schoolmates have also joined the same college. And they are very good friends. Deera introduced me to them. After setting our room, we called them in our room for having lunch. As it was the first day, all of us brought food from our homes. We had a good meal together with a small discussion about our lives. After lunch, they all went back to their rooms.

"Are you missing home too?", Deera asked.

"Yes, of course ", I replied.

"Don't worry, I am here for you", I said after watching her sad face.

"Thanks", She said.

"We have our first class tomorrow", I said.

"Yes, I am nervous", She said.

"Me too", I said and smiled.

Dinner Time:

7:30 pm, Bell rings, indicating the time for dinner in the hostel mess.

The Mess timing is from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm

You can eat at any time between this but as we are freshers, we have to go together at sharp 7:30 pm. These are the rules set by our hostel warden to safeguard us from ragging.

We went to the mess for the dinner, It is very big, there are so many dining tables there. So you can sit with your friends anywhere. On the left, there are the food counters and the serving team. And on the right side, there is a small canteen for girls.

We have a separate mess for girls and boys and none is allowed to enter each other's mess or the hostel for that matter.

We ( Me, Deera, and her friends ) took our food and sat together. The food was very bad as we were habitual of eating home-made food. We didn't eat too much and went back to our rooms.

After the attendance, we went to bed. We fell asleep while talking about our home.

The Next Day:

It's Our first day to attend the classes. I got up early in the morning and after bathing, I got ready for the class and so was Deera.

We took a pen and a copy and went downstairs.

In the Auditorium, the class schedules were given to all the students and we went to the class according to that.

Our first lecture was in the academic building. We went upstairs to the 2nd floor and went inside the class. Me and Deera sat together. The teacher entered gave her introduction and then she asked everyone to introduce themselves along with their marks in the intermediate school. One by one everyone gave their introduction including the marks in school. Now it's my turn, I gave my Introduction:

"Hi, I am Myra"( For my Audiences:

At this time I was 17 years old and I was quite chubby as I mentioned before, I am an introvert and I love cooking, drawing and singing: although I am a horrible singer)

and I mentioned my percentile "92%", all eyes went on me as no one has this much percentile, so they were shocked after hearing mine.

(Oh, I didn't mention before, I was the topper of my school .)

I felt awkward after seeing their shocked faces. I sat down and covered my face with my notebook.

After this lecture, another professor came and so on, and mostly they all took our introductions and we didn't study much.

As it was the first day, there were only 4 lectures. After attending all the lectures, we went back to the hostel and had our lunch.

After college, we came back to our rooms and discussed our feelings about the first day, teachers, and the classes with each other. The same discussion was carried in the dinner and we went to sleep afterward.
