Part LIII.

Standing right in front of the window, staring at the empty and quiet large area with a big black gate separating us from the kingdom, I've come to realise that this truly isn't earth. I'm queen of a supernatural kingdom and I have no one, except Sean whose anger I have managed to pique. I found him all dressed up, standing by the window when I woke up from a terrible nightmare this morning.

"Get ready. I'll be back in two hours." Were the only words he said before leaving through the door, not disappearing this time. He's obviously still pissed, or hurt about last night and I have not an iota idea of what to do.

I've been all dressed up and ready for more than an hour now and I'm sure he'd be back anytime soon but I really do not want him to come for fear of what he might do.

I know I shouldn't have acted that way last night but I couldn't help it. These memories haunt me in everything I do, everything. Even smiling seems wrong and breathing, evil.

"Hey." I hear Sean say from behind me and I turn around swiftly as my heart jumps in my mouth.

"Your crown?" He asks and I quickly get it from the closet where I kept it safe in a glass case and put it on, the weight reminding me of the responsibility I have now.

"Let's go." He says when I get back into the room and I nod and smile nervously while walking towards him. He takes my hand as we exit the door, his facial expression not giving off any emotion making me feel even more uncomfortable.

We walk down to the end of the hallway and turn right into another door, a medium sized door that leads to a twirl of steps that go way down. I look at him in confusion but he doesn't even spare me a glance as he starts walking downstairs still holding my hand and I follow.

At the end of every floor is a door and once we get to the third door, he stops in front of it and turns to look at me.

"Remember the rules I gave you before?" He asks and I nod, "forget them. You're the queen now."

Before I can respond, the door slides open and he takes my hand along with a step into the room.

Taking a deep breath, and holding my head high despite my trembling nerves and hurting heart, I enter the room and see ten people, five on each side, standing in front of a long desk with a chair behind each of them. At the end of the room are two large seats on a higher ground with few steps to reach them, one slightly larger than the other.

Thrones. The larger one looks to be made from pure gold with the female head carved at the top, the arm carved to look like a hand and diamonds are arranged artistically on it. The second chair is the same, only slightly smaller and shiny silver. I make a mental note to ask what the female head means, although I'm guessing her to be their goddess, or our goddess now. This whole new life is so hard to adjust to.

He holds my hand firmly and starts walking down the aisle towards the thrones without looking at anyone. I do the same, keeping my eyes fixed on the throne and once we get in front of them, he lets go of my hand and goes to sit on the golden throne while I sit on the silver one.

Once settled in, I lift up my eyes and look at the people who are now seated. Joe, Adrian and three other men are one side, on Sean's side, while Miranda and four other ladies are on my side. They're all flawlessly made, both ladies and men alike. Miranda smirks at me but I ignore it, looking away from her and keeping a straight face not letting my guard down.

"As you all know," Sean says, "this is my wife, your new queen." They all bow a little and I smile nervously, not knowing how to react. Why does he have to freaking put me out in the spotlight.

"Everyone aside from the inner council, stand up and say your names." He instructs and everyone stands up immediately, aside Joe and his children.

"I'm Kurt Donald" says the guy next to Adrian who looks to be the same age as Sean and Adrian. We all seem to be in the same age group aside Joe and the woman sitting next to Miranda.

"I'm Fred Jenkins." The next one says.

"I'm Vincent Thomas." the last man says and I nod, smiling at them but they still stand.

"I'm Zara Lawrence." The beautiful woman standing beside Miranda says in a sweet motherly tone and I instantly like her as she reminds me of both Betty and my mom.

"I'm Keisha James." The one next to her says and I have a great hunch she likes me just as much as Miranda does, which isn't so much.

"I'm Imelda Arnold."

"And I'm Celine Anderson." The last lady says and my heart skips a beat at the mention of my last name.

This has to be first time I see someone who shares the same surname with me. She's slim and of average height, I should probably be the same height as her or taller by an inch probably.

"Kurt, Fred, Vincent, Zara, Keisha, Imelda and Celine," I repeat all the names and they look at me surprised that I remembered it all making me smile inwardly, praising myself a little, "It's nice to meet you all." They all bow slightly and sit back down.

"We shall have a small dinner tonight at the royal dining." Sean announces and a little applause is given.

"Tomorrow we shall plan a counterattack on the expected invasion." He says again and the hall goes quiet. Counter attack? Invasion? What is going on?

"I think we should start planning the attack now," Adrian speaks up, "they get closer by the hour and we don't have time for an unnecessary dinner."

"I wouldn't say it's quite unnecessary," Sean responds, "as it will give us the opportunity to know the queen better and for the queen to know us better." All eyes immediately turn towards me and sweat starts forming in my pits but I stay quiet and avoid eyes.

"If that is the reason for the dinner your highness," Fred speaks up, "I'd suggest we skip it and move on to the planning."

"Meeting and knowing the queen is necessary your highness," Imelda says, "but I don't think it's is the right time yet."

"And when is?" Sean responds starting to sound a little pissed, "Who do you think would rule in my stead when I leave for the war? She has to meet people, know the ways and rules of the kingdom if you want her to rule properly." What? How could I possibly rule and what's this insane thing I'm hearing about a war?!

"Why don't you get her a fucking babysitter." Miranda scoffs and whispers but I can clearly hear and I think Sean did too.

"You want to repeat that?" He says threateningly and she looks away from him a little bit scared but tries to not let it show.

"I would suggest," I say out loud, ignoring my protesting heart and nervous brain, I can only hope my brain doesn't ignore me as well, "that the dinner doesn't hold." Sean turns to look at me, his hot angry glare burning the side of my face but I avoid his eyes. All eyes are on me but mine's fixed on the door.

"What?" He asks lowly but fiercely, fury in his tone and I turn to look at him, straight in the eye. He might be angry because of what I did last night but I did that to my husband as his wife, now, I'm the queen talking to the king. I will talk boldly and he will listen. He said it himself - I'm the queen now.
