Synopsis

When the billionaire Snow falls in love with a marketing assistant from his competitor, what will happen? What will Summer do when she finds out it is Snow who's playing the trick?

Chapter 1Chapter One

Late in the night with the moon shining in the high sky, the road was completely quiet and lonely with barely any cars or people passing by.

Humming to the music in the ear bugs, Summer stopped the bicycle all of a sudden and stared at the two vehicles crashing together at the crossroad.

One black car was overturned and deformed with the tire spinning. Its windows were broken with numerous pieces of glasses scattering here and there. A few meters away in the green belt, a red truck stopped and the buckled fronts also spoke the severity of the crash.

Summer was startled by the accident and didn't know how to react, while the truck speeded up. Crap, the driver wanted to run away. She immediately got off from the bicycle and yelled: "Wait!!" But her voice was scattered by the wind with the hit-and-run truck that disappeared within seconds.

"Damn! I should have taken pictures, at least the license!" Summer cursed and regretted.

"Right! The phone!" She quickly took out the mobile phone from the pocket and dialed "911" to call first aids and the police.

After reporting the accident to the police, Summer finally calmed down and went check the black car. There was no one at the back seat, but the young lady at the passenger side was bleeding. Her eyes were closed and apparently, she had fainted. Luckily, the young man at the driver's seat was still conscious. He glared at Summer. His glance was sharp and deep, which made Summer a little bit uneasy.

"Sir, are you ok? Can you move?" Summer held the courage and asked with a worried voice.

Pale and weak, the man nodded. "Get me out, please."

Though his voice was low because of the wounds and bleeding, he was still self-composed with no sign of scary. His reaction evoked Summer's interest. She could not help peeping at his dedicated face but immediately flinched back when meeting his indifferent glimpse.

Pulling himself together, the man opened the door and stretched out his right hand. Summer carried him carefully and slowly to the roadside. Though it was only a few meters, but she was completely exhausted and sat on the grass gulping for air. The man looked thin, but turned out to be a real burden.

"Call the ambulance" The man broke the silence.

"Already done. It will be here in minutes." Summer answered.

"Have you memorized the license?" He asked laboriously.

Summer shook head "Sorry, the truck ran away too quickly and …"

"Never mind."

The man lied down and closed his eyes to rest. There was blood on his brushed hair and suits, but it did not cover the fact that he was rich. His suit was Armani and his watch was Rolex. No wonder he did not say any thank-you word until now. The rich are always arrogant even in front of someone who saves their life.

Noticing his left leg was still bleeding, Summer took out two T-shirts from her backpack, one to bandage his wounds and the other to wipe his face. The soft-touch with light flour scent soothed and comforted the man. He felt much better now and reopened his eyes.

"Thank you!" he said, "Could you please go check my friend?"

"Of course!"

Summer approached the car. The young lady was still in coma. Terrified as she was, Summer carefully tested the lady's breath with her finger. Thank goodness, she was still alive. However, it seemed that she was struck by something. Her basic common sense of first aids told Summer that any unprofessional actions on the young lady would be wrong, so she ran back to the man.

"Your friend is alive but has not woke up."

"Don't move her", The man worriedly replied.

"Of course not! Why do you think I would be that uneducated to do such things?!" His words irritated Summer so she refuted without hesitation.

The man looked up and gazed at her. This time, Summer did not retreat.

"Okay. There's nothing I can do for you. Hold on until the ambulance. It will arrive soon." Summer took out a bottle of water and handed it out.

"Stay here, please! with me!" The man suddenly held her hand and she could clearly felt that his hand was trembling.

"I'm not leaving. Hands off!"

Summer struggled to free herself, but a man was a man. Even though he was wounded, he's still much stronger than her. But the man had been so exhausted that when Summer gave up, he gave out.

"If you left before the arrival of the ambulance…" he paused and gasped, "I would tell the police that you are the culprit of the crash!"

"What? How? The police is smart enough to tell it is impossible for a passenger to knock off a Ferrari!" Summer regretted the whole thing. It's stupid to save such a vicious person.

With eyes closed, the man did not respond. Summer had no choice but let it be. The night was deep and the world felt asleep with the cozy sea wind cooled the heat down, so was the man. Summer sat next to him and watched him without a blink. Curved face line, dark eyebrows, and pointed nose: he's definitely handsome.

"If there is a leak, run fast!" He opened his eyes all of a sudden and reminded Summer that out of nowhere.

"Don't worry. I have already checked. No leakage, at least for now." Summer smiled and continued "If there was an explosion, I'll take you along. No worries about that. But your friend would be left …"

"Are you sure you are strong enough?" he smirked, "your wrist is way too small."

"Nah! You're just a piece of cake for a saleswoman in the supermarket!"

"You are lying." The man retorted and raised his eyebrows, "I've never met a saleswoman as young and pretty as you in any supermarket."

"Thanks for the compliment then" Summer laughed "Clearly, your brain was not hurt in the crash."

Sirens of the ambulance came nearer…

Enter Demetri 'The Demon' to those who know him, a formidable man barely known to her, who offers her protection and support in return for a contract marriage to satisfy him. In a twist of fate, Nora marries Demetri to claim her inheritance and fight those who plotted against her. But as she battles her own family and Demetri's many rivals, will she be able to keep from falling for the man known to crush people beneath his booted heel. Excerpt: She had forgotten that the man was intimidating and directly challenged him. Rather than speaking, Demetri rose from his seat and approached her deliberately. Although it was a mere few steps, time seemed to stretch for Nora. When he was almost within touching distance, his hand gently landed on her knee, moving it sideways. His touch moved with a hint of a caress, and he stepped between her open legs. Nora sat there in frozen silence, her eyes wide like a deer caught in headlights. Catching her chin between his fingers, he tilted her face upwards and spoke unhurriedly," You are my wife." She nodded her head slowly in affirmation while his thumb slowly traced her lip. "I have given you time to gather your emotions." Another nod. Nora's nervousness made her lick her lips, acutely aware of his intense gaze fixed upon them. "Your reason for the marriage was to secure your inheritance and get away from under your mother's thumb." "Yes..." Nora whispered in confusion. Her confusion was not about his statement but about the bewildering sensations coursing through her. What was happening with her? "It's time for you to fulfil your end of the contract, yes?" He continued. "Yes," Nora whispered breathlessly. Why was she breathless? Had the oxygen level in the house dropped? Was the air suddenly thinning? Abruptly, his hand left her face, and she watched as he drew closer. It was then that Nora comprehended what was unfolding. All those tantalizing, heart-pounding kisses she had read about in novels were about to possibly become her reality. But the anticipated kiss didn't happen. Instead, he paused near her and commanded, "Kiss me."
