Dark Gold

Within the deepest part of the Mindscape...

"What do you think you're doing?" With his back turned, King's voice reverberated out in the infinite darkness. "Why are you still fighting like an elf? Stop that shit and WAKE THE FUCK UP GRIM!"

!!!

-VROOM!!!

Electrified by King's voice, a wild and ferocious aura burst out of Grim's body sweeping through the palace pushing everything away from him and tearing up the interior.

With wide eyes, Fiorin let go of Grim's body and retreated backwards. Amplifying his mana he stood in front of the High Elf Queen.

"This...!"

Staring at the unconscious Grim who had yet to fall despite nothing supporting him, dark golden particles started rising off of him.

"The one born without limits." The calming voice of the Queen sounded out behind him.

"Your majesty?" He looked back with solemn eyes.

"A being closest to the gods yet the furthest away from them, an equal to both the Heavens and the Earth. The progenitor of a new Elven Race."

"The Prince of Jaggered Crowns."

His eyes flashing open now a dark golden colour, something in Grim had awakened as he let out a beastial roar from the very depths of his soul.

"Urgh!!!"

Raising his hands and defending against the dark gold winds, Fiorin had no choice but to Amplify his mana further.

*CLANG!!*

*CLANG!!*

*CLANG!!*

Approaching his limits and fighting a losing battle against Grim's mana waves, every gust of wind was loud and strong as he slowly lost ground and got pushed back.

"No!" Fiorin bit his lip so hard that it bled. With his gauntlets now covered in crisscrossed slashes and slowly losing their shine, it was only a matter of time until they gave out.

'So what if you possess a crown! I'll protect the Queen with my life!!'

With the light of madness burning in his eyes, he pushed everything to x12 and went all out.

"GRIM!!" He roared putting everything on the line. "LETS END THIS!"

Hearing him and accepting his challenge, the dark golden particles his body was generating started sinking back into his skin at an accelerated pace giving it a new type of luster.

Standing slightly hunched over with drool flowing down the sides of his mouth and dripping onto the floor. The slits in his eyes and his canines were even more prononuced than before.

*BOOM!!*

Bursting forward with a speed that would shame every light magic user in existence, he left behind a trail of dark gold light as he entered devoured space.

*BANG!!*

Exiting devoured space and grabbing hold of Fiorin's face with ruthless efficency, the nails on his claw-like hands pierced through the royal knight's skin causing him intense pain. Tensing the muscles in his arms, with a simple clench he could have ended him there and then. But even with his rationality gone and his bestial nature on full display, Grim was still Grim.

Raising him up like he weighed nothing, the air screamed as he slammed him down into the reinforced ground and cracked it through sheer physical might.

*SWOOSH!!*

Raising his foot up, the light of hunger flashed through his eyes as his foot too was covered in dark gold light.

*BANG!!*

"GAAAARGH!!" Fiorin's screams rang out as his mana skin shattered and he was stomped deep into the ground.

'NOT YET!!'

Amplifying the sound of his scream by x12 he sent Grim flying as he crawled out of the pit.

"GRRRRRIM!!!" He screamed again attacking with another soundwave.

!!!

But would that work again?

Sucking in a deep breath and bearing his teeth, a deep and ruthless roar escaped Grim mouth. Mixed with the properties of [All Devouring], his roar collided with Fiorin's [x12] scream. Infused with the power of [All Devouring] Grim's roar felt like it could strip away anything in came into contact with as it tore through Fiorin's scream and continued forward.

'What!' A look of surprise emerged in Fiorin's eyes as he raised his armoured hands up and took the full brunt of Grim's devouring roar.

*BANG!!*

"Nghhh!"

Absorbing most of the damage through his gauntlets and grunting slightly, the force behind Grim's roar was enough to blow him off his feet and send him flying through several palace walls.

Bang-Bang-Bang-Bang

Flying backwards, his gauntlets started making some worrying sounds.

Crack-Crack-Crack-Crack

'Oh no.'

-Shatter!

"Noo..." His eyes shook watching his beloved gauntlets crack and shatter into pieces.

'My gauntlets...'

Digging his heels into the ground and arriving in the throne room. Several high elf officials looked at the famous Lord Fiorin was shocked expressions. From the sounds they heard beyond the doors, it wasn't difficult to guess that they were under attack. But knowing that the Queen was guarded by the leader of the royal knights and the legendary hero of the Uriasvel Kingdom, there should have been nothing to worry about.

So what the hell was the situation?!

*BOOM!!*

Charging through the newly made entrance and covered in a dark golden hue, the moment Grim saw the other high elves, the smile on his face widened considerably.

---

"So this is the power of a progenitor."

Throughout this entire conflict, the high elf queen stood calmly watching the conflict with a steady gaze. To witness the power of a progenitor first hand was not something that she wanted to miss. It was why she left the throne room mid council.

Even if Fiorin and the rest of her castle guard couldn't sense it, as the queen and the one with the purest bloodline amongst the high elves, she instinctively knew what Grim was. And that Dark Golden energy that clung to him was enough proof.

"To think he would outclass Fiorin by this much. If he's this strong without manifesting his crown, how much stronger will he get when he receives it?"

Alas it was a shame. Just as it seemed like he was begining to tap into his abilities as a progenitor, the fight would have to end here. If she let him continue on like this, not only would Fiorin die, but those high ranking officials would end up using incident as an excuse to threaten her position.

*Sigh*

'All good things must come to an end.'

Staring at the hole in the wall, it felt like her sight could transcend the unseen as she parted her lips and spoke.
