She called me

"She really called you?" Shan asked while looking at Lijuan in disbelief. 

"I honestly can't believe it myself, I can't even understand why the sudden change of heart." Lijuan said pacing around Shan's bedroom. 

Madam Wang had called her earlier and had sounded so nice that Lijuan couldn't help but get scared for her life. Madam Wang had then said she wanted them to have lunch together the next day and get to know each other. 

"What if she just wants to offer you money to leave her son?" Shan asked speculatively. 

"That only happens in movies, especially when the lady in question is from a poor background, not when she is the second daughter of the Chairman of a reputable company such as Mei Corporations." Lijuan said rolling her eyes. 

"Oh! That's true." Shan said dimming her eyes as she was deep in thought.
