Tenebrae Unleashed

"Ath3na!" she heard someone scream her name. 

At the same time, Ath3na felt a hand grasp her by the shoulder and pull her back just in time to avoid the sword attack that she could barely see through the dots that had appeared over her vision. 

She screamed again. The pain was too much. 

In her mind — the part of her that could still think despite the pain lancing through it — Ath3na wondered if her face would be permanently disfigured now. Would she look like an abomination herself? Would this carry over to reality as some other things had? 

She felt soft fingers caress her face. This caused her to kick out and scream against whoever was holding her. 

"Keep her still, please," Serenity pleaded. 

"I-I'm trying," came Jaybird's voice from right behind Ath3na. "Hey, Ath3na, stay calm… we're here to help…"
