Chapter 9

Nimbus was staring intently at the core of a soul. This would have been normal except for the fact that the soul was floating in the air.

Given her experience with Callum, she knew this was not normal for a soul to do.

When Nimbus saw her, the soul dropped to the ground and she padded over.

She petted him and wondered at the changes to her life.

'First lightning bolts that should have killed me, now I have a telekinetic cat.' She thought. 'What next? Telapathy?'

Unfortunately, her cat didn't reach out to say hello telepathically.

Shaking her head, she stopped questioning her life. Doing so would only waste time.

Getting in bed, she watched as Nimbus shakily manipulated his body with telekinesis so she wouldn't have to walk.

"You're so lazy." She laughed lightly.

Nimbus looked at her as if to say 'I'm a cat. Duh.'

Moving over to make room for the massive cat, she started thinking about her old life.

'Had I not found this power I would have been used like a toy and thrown aside by that sick f**k.' She shuddered thinking about it.

"This world is so f**ked." She said aloud to Nimbus. Nimbus nodded her head.

"Maybe I should help Callum purge it." That was a concerning thing to say. "We might be able to make a utopia."

She sighed at the thought. "I'm delusional." She lay back down. "Creating a utopia is impossible. Right?"

Once she had the thought, she couldn't get it out of her brain.

'We have this power, why can't we use it for good?' She wondered. 'Could we really make a utopia?'

She thought about it late into the night.

By the time she fell into a troubled sleep, light was beginning to shine through her curtains.

Oh no. She's infected with Callum's coming insanity? Maybe.
