The spell is acid spit, while the lich named Doevm was examining a Mantivore he learned that by magically reducing the water content of stomach acid and expelling it orally allowed the creature to catch bigger prey than it would normally. I just use the contest to get my creative juices flowing.

After connecting his magic to the sun and creating light magic, Doevm began reaching out into the blackness of space to find any other types of power for new magics. Having found several things that he was able to latch onto but is unable to learn any new forms of magic and loses interest. Having remembered this, current Doevm attempts to use soul Mana to connect to the sun and see if there are any differences. Before he is able to connect with what he was expecting, Doevm comes into contact with a new power. He feels magical swell in him almost matching his Mana as a litch but also feels a pain in his soul similar to when his soul was eaten. Using this energy he uses fire magic and evaporates a large part of the water in the swamp near them, removing the advantage the enemy had over him.
If the spell thing is still going on, I would like to suggest one. “Field of Refraction and Reflection” a high tier illusion spell and when Doevm created it he thought it was originally almost worthless. Essentially completely messing up everyone’s vision and making the other senses go haywire. But he learned that there was a method to the madness, and he found a “method” to traverse it.
