If you had a choice of species you could turn into, what would it be? A blood thirsty vampire? A lovely voiced mermaid? Perhaps a fierce dragonewt. Choose wisely for only a few will live through the change.
Muffins? Is that some kind of code word for something? Is she saying that the poison will be in a muffin? Or is she just really wanting muffins? Then her eyes, they were such a beautiful hazel color. I swear they shone with such a soft light that I've never seen before. Now, they held something...ominous. Her irises were multicolored and her skin was now paler than before, yet her cheeks seemed rosier. Her hair was a frosty white. I don't know what filled the air, but it wasn't an emotion. Was it power? Magic? Insanity? Was this place causing me to go insane, and my senses were just betraying me? That would make a lot of sense.
"Yo, Mr. Brain Space, did you hear a word I said?" Mackenzie asked, throwing a muffin at me. Was she simply just telling me about the muffins for lunch? That would be plausible. "I'm guessing that's a no."
"He's been trapped in his head a lot more lately, especially since he brought that girl here." Mia pointed out with a grin on her face.
"I believe we should help the lovebird out." Becky pretended to kiss somebody in the air.
"Stop it!" I pushed Becky away. "I don't even find her attractive!"
"Stop lying to your heart, you know you want to kiss her. Maybe, if you try hard enough, you'll make it to second ba-"
"Will you guys just shut up?!" I yelled and walked out of the room. Their joking around isn't helping.
I walked outside to try to clear my mind. I watched all of the experiments running and did other useless things. Some of them were trying to escape, but that didn't concern me. There wasn't an easy way out, especially outside. They'd have to go through this whole building and find the exit. To be honest, I don't even know where the exit is, and I have the ability to walk all over the facility.
I got some food from the cafeteria for the girl. I can't believe I still don't know her name. I guess I'll ask when I deliver her food. I sighed after getting her a muffin, since she seems addicted to those, or have a new craving for them. At this point, I can't really tell what's behind her obsession. I slowly walked to her room. I wonder how she's going to act when I get there. After all, angels are a complete mystery to me. Especially the doctor and his family.
I sighed as I got to her door, I guess worrying about it won't help. I knocked on the door, and heard shuffling before the door opened. The girl didn't look like what she did after the surgery. She was back to normal, hair and eyes both brown again. She seems to just be waking up from her nap.
"How are you doing, uhm…" I trailed off, trying to give her the choice of giving me her name.
"Terrible, and you?" She seems to be in pain. No surprise there though. I bet her wings are starting to grow in.
"So-so, hey I brought you a muffin."
"Ah, thanks? Why a muffin? Shouldn't it be something for lunch?"
"You were talking about muffins all the time, so I thought you might like it." She gave me a questioning look.
"What do you mean? This is the first time I was even awake since before my surgical appointment. How could I possibly be talking about muffins, unless it was in my sleep." She seems to ponder her last statement. I feel like I should report this to the doctor, maybe something went wrong.
"Oh, I must have been napping when I heard it, sorry about that." I smiled at her. "But the doctor informed me to get you food, so here it is."
"Uhm thanks." She took the plate, but didn't walk to open the door. "By the way, what's your name?"
"What?" She said my name several...times...she must be suffering from something, I definitely have to tell Dr. Everborn about this. "My name is Ace, and yours is?"
"Kemena, but people usually call me Kem for short." She smiled at me.
"Well I better be going, hope you enjoy your lunch." She closed the door and I walked away. I wonder why the doctor decided to give her the only room, without a lock on the door. Maybe it's because she doesn't have enough energy to walk around too much.
I walked towards the doctor's office to tell him what I found out so far. I hope this thing can be fixed, or we find out it's normal for the first few weeks, or however long it'll take. I wonder if it'll function like a split-personality disorder.
