chapter 28

The sun shone down on Melemele Island as Ash and Pikachu were racing each other up the road to school.  After coming to the Alola region on vacation, Ash had an encounter with several locals and one thing led to another, leading him to enroll at the Pokemon school.  Never in Ash's dreams would his journey lead him from traveling around the world to going to school.  But nevertheless, he was having fun, getting stronger, and was making new friends.

Finally, he arrived at school, beating Pikachu by a yard.  Both panted heavily.  "You almost had me, buddy.  But looks like I won today."  "PIKA...Pika-Pi, Pikachu?"  "Huh, what's the matter?"  Ash looked at Pikachu who looked slightly confused, then looked around and found himself confused as well.  The entirety of the school was decorated all over with red hearts, white streamers, quotes about love and friendship, and flowers everywhere.

"What's all this?"  Before he could answer or think to answer, his friends came up.  "ALOLA, ASH!"  "ALOLA, everyone."  He was greeted by Mallow, Lana, and Lillie.  "Happy Valentine's Day, Ash,"  they all said.  "V-valentines day?  It's today?"  "Yes," replied Lillie.  "It's always on the 14th of February," chimed in Lana.  "How could you forget," miffed Mallow.  Ash was a bit at a loss for words.  "Well, while I was traveling, none of my friends ever made a big deal about Valentine's day, and the days all blurred together.  Come to think of it, aside from people acting all lovey-dovey to each other, I'm really unsure as to what people do on Valentines day."

The three girls then looked at each other and giggled.  "Well, that pretty much sums up Valentines day, Ash," started Mallow.  "People act lovey-dovey to each other, but it's mainly used for a man to tell a woman who he really likes his feelings towards her," continued Lillie.  "And for a couple to remember the reasons they fell in love with each other," said Lana.  "So, you give flowers to someone you like?"  "Yes, silly, but some guys do more.  They write poetry, give gifts, take girls out to dinner, make them feel special.  And the girl, for the most part, returns the guy's love," finished Lillie.  "So any of you got a Valentine," asked Ash.  While the girls were experts in romance, they all realized something.  "WE DON'T!"  And before Ash could say anything else, the girls ran off, tears in their eyes.

Ash didn't know why they were crying.  "All I did was ask a question," puzzled Ash to Sophocles and Kiawe.  "Ash, the girls take Valentines day seriously, and for no one to give them a valentine gift, it's pretty heartbreaking," advised Kiawe.  "Yeah, my love program states that the leading cause of heartbreak on Valentine's day is lack of love," peeped Sophocles.  "Well, we should do something," yelled Ash.  Then it came to him. "How bout we each make one of the girls a Valentine's day gift."  At this statement, both the tall farm boy (Kiawe) and the short electric genius (Sophocles) sweatdropped.  Both were not comfy with what Ash was proposing, because they were a bit gun-shy.  "Uh,...I..would.." stuttered Kiawe, "but the thing is...I..I've kind-a,...already...got this..girl who lives next to my family farm..that I already asked out.  So it looks like you two are on your own."

Ash then looked at Sophocles.  "UH, I...can't either...because...because..I've...gotta water my plants and take Togedamaru for a walk."  Ash wasn't happy.  "But guys..." Before he could even finish his sentence, both Kiawe and Sophocles were gone.  "Great," sighed Ash.  "Now what to do?"  After 10 minutes of thinking, an idea struck Ash.  "I've got it.  I just hope it works and they love it."

(Lunchtime)

As the three girls sat down to lunch, they were all still bummed.  "I can't believe the days half over and no one's given us a Valentine," cried Lillie.  "Maybe the guys don't look at us that way," wailed Mallow.  "I don't think we'll find love," sobbed Lana.  The girls were making so much noise everyone around was feeling uncomfortable and moved on. Then suddenly from out of thin air, a card dropped to the middle of the table.  "Hey, what's this," asked Mallow between tears.  "It's to all three of us," said Lillie.  "Read it."

Dear Lillie, Lana, and Mallow

Meet me in Professor Kukui's classroom 10 minutes after school is over for an Alolan Valentine Surprise.

Until then, keep me in your hearts and minds.

Your secret admirer/valentine

The three girls began to blush and giggle.  "I think it's the boys who're doing this," stated Lillie.  "After all, there are 3 of them and 3 of us, so it evens out to where we each have one."

(After School)

The girls entered the classroom to find that it was empty, with the exception of a bouquet of flowers on each of their desks.  Taped to the bouquets were notes, one for each girl.

Dear Lillie,

I've never known anyone like you.  While you may come off as timid and scared to some, to me, I look at you as one of the bravest, smartest, kindest persons I've known.

Dear Lana,

I'm always amazed by how you are able to throw a fishing line out and catch a bite almost every single time.  In addition to that, your dream is one that you and Popplio take a step closer to every single day.

Dear Mallow,

Your taste for good food and a great adventure is rivaled to that of my own.  You're kind, dedicated, charming, and you never give up on anything, whether it's cooking or helping out your friends.

All three of them read the last part simultaneously and blushed heavily:  Thank you for being my special friend.  Happy Valentine's Day.  Love, Ash Ketchum.

"ASH," yelled the girls.  "He wrote this," exclaimed Lillie.  "Yep," came a voice.  The three looked up to see Ash standing on the balcony near the front of the class.  As Ash climbed down the ladder, he explained.  "All three of you are special to me, because I see a bit of myself in each of you.  I didn't want to give a Valentine to just one of you, because I didn't want the others to feel like I didn't care."  "But what about Kiawe and Sophocles," asked Lana.  "Kiawe has feelings for another girl and Sophocles said he had to water his plants, as well as take Togedamaru for a walk.  But I know that if you are ever down, you can always turn to anyone of us guys for help."

"I also have one more thing for each of you."  Ash then produced 3 identical sized boxes and as the girls opened them up, they each shed a tear in happiness and joy.  The contents of each box was a necklace, each featuring a different pokemon and gem.  Mallow's Poke-Necklace featured a Tsarena, and was studded in emeralds.  Lillie's Poke-Necklace featured an Alolan Ninetales, and was studded/made of diamonds.  Lana's Poke-Necklace featured a Primarina and was studded with sapphires.

"Oh, Ash, we don't know what to say," exclaimed Lillie.  "You don't have to say anything, this is just my way of saying thank you for being my special friends."  The girls then looked at each other, giggled, and then turned back to Ash, beaming him a smile.  Ash looked a bit nervous as they kept coming closer.  When he took one step back, they said it.  "Come here, Cutie!"

Ash suddenly froze as it happened.  He let it consume him.  The only sounds that came from the classroom was a repeated smooching sound and some giggling, followed by 3 distinctive smooches.  Then as quickly as it started, it was over.

"See you tomorrow, Ash," called Mallow, "don't forget, you promised to help me taste those new recipes."  "Don't forget Ash," said Lillie, "on Saturday, we're studying for the test together and if you could bring Litten, I want to help Snowy with battling against an opponent with a type advantage."  "Ash," stated Lana, "on Friday, I won't be home to fish with you like we talked about.  I've got to meet with Harper and Sarah's teacher at their preschool.  But I should be done by 3, so we could catch a cast or two in there."  "BYE, ASH, WE LOVE YOU!" called all three of them as they headed out the door.

he told lana that he would go with her to see their teacher she said ok

Ash was left alone in the classroom.  He was stunned and his lips were quivering.  He dare not touch his face.  He took out a small mirror from his pocket to see if what he felt was really there and it was.  Ash's face was covered all over in lipstick marks from his new girlfriends.  Then if that wasn't enough, the last kiss that each girl gave him was a full on smacker to his lips.

the next day after school they went to the preschool the talked to Harper's and Sarah's teacher

Valentine's Day at the Pokemon School in Melemele Island had been great so far. The class had made and given valentines to each other, showing their appreciation for their friends. Plenty of candy was eaten, and plenty of pleasant words were exchanged. But Lillie had bigger plans for today. Today was the day where she would give a special Valentine's Gift to Ash Ketchum, so that he could understand how she felt about him.

Alright, here he comes, Lillie thought, hiding behind a wall and glancing towards Ash Ketchum, who was approaching where she was with Pikachu perched on his shoulder, as usual.

"H-hello, Ash," Lillie said nervously, approaching her crush in the schoolyard while carrying a lovely pink box held carefully in her hands.

"Hey Lillie," Ash said pleasantly to his classmate. "What's that you got there?"

"Oh, um, it's for you," Lillie said, blushing and holding it out to Ash.

"Hey, thanks!" Ash exclaimed happily, taking the box and uncovering it. Inside was a blue-and-yellow Quick Ball, nestled comfortably within the lining of the box.

Ash looked up at Lillie and smiled at her. "A Quick Ball! Thank you very much!"

"Pi-kachu!" Pikachu chirped happily from Ash's shoulder.

Lillie giggled. "Uh, actually, there's something in the ball," she explained. "I caught it, but now it's yours."

"Really?" Ash asked, intrigued. He removed the Quick Ball from its packaging and pressed its center button. A flash of white light beamed from the opened capsule, materializing into a small, pink, heart-shaped Pokemon that floated down towards the ground. Upon landing on the ground, the Luvdisc looked up at Ash and smiled at him.

"H-happy Valentine's Day, Ash," Lillie said, looking down and blushing furiously.

"A Luvdisc, thanks Lillie!" Ash exclaimed happily, placing the Quick Ball into the pink box on the ground and lifting the Rendezvous Pokemon into the air. "Welcome to the team, Luvdisc!"

"Luv!" Luvdisc trilled.

Lillie sighed, disappointment spreading over her as she realized that Ash hadn't understood what she was trying to tell him by giving him the Luvdisc. Lillie had fished for hours trying to find a Luvdisc and was thankful that she had the Quick Ball, which easily caught the pink Pokemon. She had stepped out of her comfort zone to catch that Pokemon - the Quick Ball was an old gift from her mother, and though she hadn't had to touch any Pokemon like she feared in order to catch the Luvdisc, obtaining the present for Ash still took a lot of bravery and effort on Lillie's part.

"Uh, Ash?" Lillie said tentatively.

"Hm?"

"You know I'm nervous around Pokemon," Lillie said. "I really stepped out of my comfort zone to get that present for you. So…" She shifted. "I was hoping you'd understand what I'm trying to say with it."

"I do understand," Ash said, smiling. "I'm glad that I helped you be less nervous around Pokemon. Thanks for the present and putting so much effort into it, Lillie. You're a really good friend for doing this for me."

Argh! Lillie thought in frustration, but years of learning to be well-mannered held her back from yelling out loud. Besides, Ash seemed happy with his new Pokemon. She didn't exactly want to ruin his good mood by confessing her feelings to him right now.

So she chuckled and said, "Thanks. You're a good friend too."

Then ash saw someone who he did not thought that he would see today and he said mom way are you here she said this one was missing you  and he saw bonnie  and hugged her and put her on his shoulders everyone said who is this he said she is my adopted daughter bonnie and bonnie they are my friends than he put her on the ground than asked lillie to come to the front of the room and she did than he got on one knee and said lillie would you be my girlfriend and she said yes then kissed him bonnie asked if she could stay with him ash said you have to talk to him she did and he said yes than school was over ash said he had to go to work 7pm he was just about to live wene bonnie came in and asked him to help her pokemon because it was Poisoned and he did then they went home the next day at school lillie came in and said dos anyone know how to treat Poisoned pokemon ash said he did than he treated snowy than they did class then he went to mallow's family restaurant to help her out than went home
