Sin of Sloth

( Authors note, sorry for the weird things happening with releases recently, I wasn't home for nearly a week and attempted putting out what little I could... quality will eventually settle back to its rhythm. )

Rushing behind those within the metal room, we attempted to quickly respond whatever explosion rang out above.

Is it possible that our enemies are already here? Oh Lord... this war might end up different that what I expect... different from any war fought so far in this world.

At least that's what I expected when I heard a loud explosion, when we reaches the top we were greeted by the mage division who reported of a large man with a tower shield. Magic was generally ineffective at first before one of the mages casted a 9th level magic spell.

Its few and far between you find a Caster with higher than 8th circle casting ability... the concentration and mental fortitude for it is supposedly high, compared to non caster classes its much easier... but it has nearly indifferent power to of a Casters 2nd level.

Apparently, the man with the shield had weird markings over his body... etched magic runes almost, such testimonies make me believe that the tower user may of been in possession of... what were they called again?

Key? Chi? Qi? I'm not knowledgeable in that... there are few of the immortals that decide to us such arts over magic or weapon arts, and even rarer for a mortal to do it as such... its harder to master, and the payoff is only as good as... ehh, little worse then mages but above weapon arts.

They can do many things wizards can't do with their abilities, and they have a basically infinite amount of skills... no matter the usefulness of them, they are fearsome in large quantities.

The one who approached was alone, but according to the reports from the mages... those runes were likely made with either machinery or a team of people. People with durability like this might be able to be mass produced as foot soldiers, and that man was to test their overall strength.

The Warriors above ground weren't quite aware of what happened, likely thinking it was just practising of magic or such... but after ordering someone to retrieve the corpse, the Lady in Samurai armor critiqued his gear's inner workings and appraised it, as well did I.

Trench Armor

Low Grade Plate mail

+5 Con

Trench Shield

Low Grade Shield

+10 Con, -5 Spd

He wasn't using much else, and the idea of a item set named " Trench " doesn't exactly paint the idea of quality... despite it being able to rank at Low grade. Huh, that's kind of confusing.

After finishing dealing with such an ordeal... I was ordered to filter the Weapon Art users into usable data... such as how many Archers, or how many Swordsmen?

...

There is quite the bit of swordsmen... specifically Dual swordsmen or Magic swordsmen, its ridiculous... nearly every melee user is a swordsman of some type, rarely a berserker type shows up with an Axe or a few rouges in the mix... but beyond that there is a problem with range users...

Every one of them uses Immortal technology... Canons and Guns, we can't supply such arms... we don't have enough resources to fuel them, but the main problem is they are outclassed by any form of mages.

I sincerely don't know how Cobalt managed to use a Rifle effectively... I'd rather use a sling!

At least I could just huck rocks at enemies, rather then having to only use bullets... ugh, what are we going to do...

We could attempt to get our hands on some Class change tokens... but their is a likely chance to get ganked, enemies won't want us getting an advantage and neutrals likely wouldn't involve themselves...if we have to use rifles as makeshift spears and canons as barriers then do be it.

Until those in the metal room figure out their plans for it, I'll just follow orders while thinking about what could be done or what will be done... and that's fine for now at least.

The enemies will come, and we'll stop them.

Hopefully... I wonder what will happen to Cobalt if we lose this...
