Within the Waves of Battles and Darkness

"Hey!The new episode just came out!"Shouted the next-door kid while hugging his $7.99 plushie that I gave him.

"Yeah,yeah I know."I responded emotionless.

He keeps reminding me that there are new episodes like I'm a 60 year old man even though I'm only 25.

Anime.

A cartoon like Series of shows full of character of different types.

I have been watching anime for about 2 years now.

I started watching anime since this kid came along in our neighborhood.

I still can't forget that day.The day when the kid arrived.His mother knocked on our door to give us freshly baked cupcakes.My mother and his mother chatted for hours and when I was about to close the door as they left,the kid stopped me and asked,

"Do you watch cartoons?"

"Yes I do.I'm also a programmer.Why do you ask?"I replied.

"Cool so do you know about anime?"he asked.

"Anime?What's that?"I asked.

That was the question that changed my whole life.

I immediately regret asking that question to the kid.

"You know.Shows where characters have powers,swords,...."

"Yeah,yeah I know but why do you ask if I watch anime?"

"Do you want to watch Anime with me?"

Aaaand 2 years later I'm still watching anime.It feels like my whole life made a 180 degree turn.

This kid doesn't want to do anything except watching anime.He doesn't even want to play video games or board games.

Every time there is no school or during the weekends he comes over to my house to watch anime.

These past few months,my company has been programming a new cartoon that they were going to release soon.

That is why I needed some time off everything including watching anime.

So the next day I went to the next-door kid's house and asked him,"Do you want to do something else besides watching anime?"

"Oh but I want to watch more anime."he replied.

"Oh maybe we could go get some yummy vanilla ice cream in the park.Is that okay with you?"I asked.

And we are now in the park.

Far away from televisions.

Far away from anime.

We sat down in a bench and talking about a lot of stuff until he asked me,"If you can go to any world or fictional places,what would it be?"

I replied,"Hmm I would like to go to the fictional world of Harry Potter.You know,so I could shoot laser from my magic wand."

He said,"Oh I thought you were going to answer Anime."

"That's your dream kiddo,but enough of this we should be going home."I replied

As we were walking back home I kept thinking and murmuring to myself.

If I were able to go to any world or dimension and it is the world of anime what would I do.

Enjoy using my powers.Fight enemies and villains.Anything possible in my imagination.

That daydreaming caused me to lost my footing and I hit the ground face-first.

I stood up to tell the kid everything is okay.But something weird happened.

The road we were walking on had holes and craters with explosives,blood,and swords in it

The houses around us turned into destroyed buildings with ice and fire marks

And most importantly,the kid is gone.

No.

This is impossible.

The world I'm looking at right now.

Anime.
