Fire of Eternity
It'd be really cool if later in the book it showed that the parents were actually abusing Kokor (since... the dude actually seems pretty guilt ridden and reluctant to actually hurt this dude and hi angrily yelling that maybe the MC should sell himself into slavery seems to be hinting that something was up) as for how it ends: MC coming back for revenge but Kokor tells him this and decides to call it even but still obviously keeps an eye out, he eventually finds this out before he goes for revenge and doesn't know what to do, kills Kokor and finds this out later and is guilt-ridden, etc. I'm good with any of that.
