Maybe I Can Help With it (1)

Michael watched the maroon lights flickering behind the curtains. The painted white roof of the room was only working as a background across which colors were splashed. He wondered what was going on the other side of the deep blue curtains.

He wanted to witness it with his own eyes, but stopped himself even when his feet urged him to move. He forced himself to continue sitting in the same chair. His eyes trailed to the door of the room before they jumped back towards the bed. He had no doubts that whatever was going behind the curtains had to do with Amara. But he couldn't pinpoint what it was.

At first he wasn't sure about giving her some time alone with him, but he did it anyway, knowing that it was what Aden had wanted. Even if the two of them were at odds, he would have never said no to Amara, no matter what she asked of him. His best friend was hopelessly in love with her already. He was just finding it hard to believe.
