Getting started

"Aye Jakob slow down!" I yelled when seeing him jog ahead to the transport facility.

"Why should I slow down Ryder, shouldn't you speed up?" he said while jogging backwards. "Just because you don't feel prepared doesn't mean I should have to wait and waste time. The sooner we arrive the sooner we can start hunting."

"Just because you can blindly run into most danger doesn't mean I can. I like to be prepared for anything." I said with frustration.

"Your just as bad me, you've done so many stupid things that could've resulted in not just your death," Jakob replied.

"Like what?" I said in return with doubt Jakob could think of anything so quickly. I knew what he said was true but, I also trusted myself enough.

Jakob quickly replied flagrantly with, "Let's see. There was the time you were making hydrogen bombs, jumping from rooftops, speeding on a bike in the middle of the main road. Do you want me to continue. Cause I oh so most definitely can if you want."

I looked at him without anything to say, knowing he was right in most of those. He continued to look at me as if he was waiting for an answer. I looked at the large clock above the teleport pad. To my surprise it read "12:34 pm." Finally I closed my bag and sprinted towards Jakob.

"Come on it's time, if we miss this we'll have wait another ten minutes. I want to get as many fragments as possible. We'll also need to register with the emperor crystal to recieve our dwellings." Jakob said with a exhausted look on his face. Knowing we had much to do. "So much time and so little to do. Wait no, reverse that," he continued.

When a person turns 16 they are granted access to the emperor's world. The emperor's world was a parallel world to ours, though the setting was primitive and on the rise of medieval. The emperor's world works on it's laws of physics, as well as a what many called magic.

This new world was discovered close to two hundred years ago. Very few structures stood when it was first discovered. With these abnormal structures there were also abnormal beasts. Many strange things would occur in the emperor's world. The beasts that lurked outside the walls were all enhanced and almost magical. So many strong beasts inhabited the world that still to today no person has ever mapped the whole world. Though periodically throughout the world more structures were found, they were all close to the same.

When entering the Emperor's world one would have to "register" with the Emperor Crystal. The world was discovered not long after the twenty first century. Though even with how persistent human intelligence was, they still could not establish modern machines or use many modern machines.

It was said that the Emperor himself had greeted the first to come and explained the rules of his world. The rules were quite simple. The only thing humans needed to do was follow the rules, though it was impossible to break the rules. All humans were reluctant to try to break these rules.

Though none have seen the Emperor, they all fear his emergence. This was what was going through Ryder's head when stepping into the teleportation rune. He remembered quite clearly what his teachers had said.
