Chapter 9 Instinct

Alice (Pov)

'Nothing can go as planned' I thought as I was diving down towards the screaming figure that plummeted towards the party right outside of Mr. Big's compound.

5 Minutes earlier

"And that's how I became the goddaughter of one of the most influential crime bosses in Zootopia," Judy said proudly.

"So you're a dirty cop?"

"No! Of course not Mr. Big understands what I am and he keeps his business away from mine, we are a family. Oh look look, it seems they are having a gala for Koslov and Jenny, I totally forgot it's their anniversary." Judy said standing up and pointing.

"Judy sit back down!" but it was too late she slipped.

"Nick hold on tight!"

Mr. Big (Pov)

"Jenny my dear I congratulate you and Koslov, and I hope you have many more years of happyne…"

"AHHHHHHHHH" looking up I noticed a figure falling towards us at an alarming rate and a giant figure right behind it. Although I didn't know what was happening I immediately took control of the situation.

"Koslov, get Fru-fru and Jenny out of here, Guards! Prepare for an unknown intruder!"

"Sir" guns were out and defensive positions around me increased tremendously, everyone staring into the sky. Squinting I realized that the smaller figure appeared to be Judy.

"Anya that's Judy catch her everyone else keep your weapons trained on the figure above her!"

"Yes, Sir."

Just as Judy was about to crash Anya lept up and caught her then backed up behind more guards.

Alice (Pov)

When I saw the polar bear grab Judy something in me snapped and my military and primal instincts merged and my senses went to an 11. I was in an unknown environment and my possession was being held by the enemy, I landed in the middle of the encampment and flexed my wings flinging the nearest hostiles away from me, guns flying into the air. Standing up I grabbed a gun and pulled the trigger with my claw, firing at all the mammals surrounding Judy. Nonlethal shots, but enough to put them down on the ground. Then I rushed at the polar bear holding Judy, kicking her in the chest causing Judy to fly into the air. Grabbing her out of the air I turned around and noticed that Nick had fallen off my back when I stood up and he was staring at me with a look of mild fear and confusion. Glancing down at Judy she was giving me the same look and as I looked around I noticed a small mammal surrounded by more guards looking at me with wide eyes.

"Alice are you ok?" Judy asked within my arm.

"Yes the hostiles have been neutralized and the package is secured," I stated in a neutral tone, still scanning the area for more hostiles.

Judy (Pov)

When Alice landed I was excited to introduce her to Mr. Big but when she looked up her eyes were glowing and her fur was pulsing again, what I saw in those eyes was not the friend I had made but something else and I was scared. What I saw next I would remember for the rest of my life, she took out all the guards surrounding me in seconds and before I could realize what was going on I had left Anya's arms and was now in the much larger crook of Alice's left arm. Looking around I noticed 15 guards all on the ground with wounds in their shoulders or legs that had put them on the ground.

"Alice are you ok?" I asked with a slightly hesitant voice. When she answered in that neutral almost robotic voice I was worried. I didn't know what to do she seemed to be protecting me from what she deemed to be a hostile environment and I didn't know what to do.

"Alice you can put me down I'm okay now."

"Negative hostiles are still in the area, preparing to engage."

I didn't know what to do so I just stared at my godfather pleadingly hoping he would know what to do.
