39 ✒ Chapter 27 : I'll protect you

"Ask me" Rei said and sat next to Khein on the bed. Khein cocked a brow and glared at Rei.

"Ask you what?" Khein asked calmly.

"Everything, I'll answer it honestly. But believe in everything that I have to say." Rei said and leaned forward, his face was three inches away from Khein. Khein rolled his eyes and got off from the bed. He thought he didn't need to ask Rei anymore. Or the truth, he was afraid he could not accept Rei's explanation. He was afraid to find out Rei's secrets.

"Forget about it, I don't want to ask" Khein said and was about to leave when a sudden pair of arms grabbed him from behind.

"Hey! What the fuck!" Khein cursed as Rei hugged him from the back. Rei was still sitting on the bed while burying his face on Khein's back. Khein struggled as he tried to remove Rei's arms around his waist. Rei tightened his grip as he smelled Khein's uniform.

"I miss this" Rei said. Even if Khein wasn't looking at Rei, he knew that the psycho guy was smiling behind his back.

"Dumbass, let me go" Khein ordered as he tried to loosen Rei's arms but to no avail he failed.

"Five minutes"

"No way!"

"Three minutes?" Rei asked like a puppy while doing his usual habit when he is sulking or being denied; biting his bottom lip.

"Dream on, dumbass" Khein hissed as he struggled.

"Sixty seconds" Rei asked politely with a serious voice. Khein sighed and gave up.

"Fine. Whatever" Khein said and swayed his hands lifelessly and sat in front of Rei. Rei gasped and fidgeted backwards when Khein was about to sit on him. Rei hugged Khein from the back and rested his chin on Khein's shoulder.

"Kheiny, you see." Rei started, his breath fanning Khein's neck. It gave the rebel guy a chill on his spine but he ignored it.

"I had an older brother. His name was Rain. He was my adopted brother but I really do love him as my family. I was 7 when he was 13." Rei said while taking a glance if Khein was listening at him or not.

"Continue, I'm still awake" Khein said to spoil the mood. He didn't want to be dramatic again.

"Rain said he liked me, he said he loved me. Of course I rejected him since I'm after you ever since I was a kid. He started making move that scared me. He began to kiss me on the neck oftenly. He never did that before. He sometimes sneaks in my room and sleep beside me. I became uncomfortable with his presence." Rei said as he planted a soft kiss on Khein's neck- which made the rebel guy shiver.

"I'm no longer interested!" Khein said bitterly and wiped the side of his neck. Rei chuckled at how cute Khein's reaction was.

"Okay okay I won't do anything except hugging you, I promise" Rei said and rested his chin on Khein's shoulder as a sign of defeat.

"Dad found out everything about it. No, Rain told him everything about it. My father hates homosexual people. He asked me if Rain touched me or abuses me. I only said that rain often kisses me on the neck." Rei said with a gloomy face. Khein noticed how uncomfortable Rei acted so he looked at the psycho guy behind him. Rei met Khein's gaze and stared at the rebel guy's lips like a hungry beast. Khein immediately looked away and gulped unconsciously. They both thought, 'That was close!'

"What did your father do then?" Khein asked immediately.

"Nothing at first" Rei answered. Khein frowned and asked, "at first?"

Rei nodded.

"I thought father didn't do anything serious, considering that we were still kids. But I found out that Rain was being punished." Rei said, his hands started sweating cold.

"What did your father do?" Khein asked with eyes being restless whether to look at Rei or not.

"Rain got bruises on his back, some were new and some were fresh scars. Later on, my father showed me the place where he punishes Rain." Rei said, his hands began to tremble. Khein panickedly intertwined their fingers together. The rebel boy thought that doing it might calm Rei down.

"He showed me how he did it. He brought Rain to the room and started hitting him with a thick stick. That was no ordinary stick, I'm pretty sure. He started beating Rain in front of me with the stick. Rain shouted in pain while I sat on the floor trembling like crazy. From that day on, I never acknowledged my father as my favorite but my greatest fear." Rei said while trying to control himself or he might break Khein's fingers.

"Rain was sent overseas to study and to be kept away from me. My father noticed how I was so attached to you back then. Without a warning, he sent me overseas too. I was not able to say goodbye to you" Rei said with a lonely voice.

"Now that I came back, he found out that you and the boy I used to play with in the past were the same person. In order to protect you, I needed to leave you for a while and take good care of everything." Rei said as he held Khein's hand towards his lips. He kissed the back of Khein's hand and said, "Everything is going to be fine, Kheiny"

"What do you mean?" Khein asked with a confused look.

"Dad went overseas and it's too far away." Rei said happily and buried his face on Khein's neck.

"What if he comes back?" Khein asked as his hands began to tremble unconsciously.

"He won't be coming back. That's for sure" Rei mumbled under Khein's neck.

"You don't have to worry about anything. Just stay by my side and you'll never get hurt. Okay?" Rei said with a smiling face. Khein stared at Rei for a long time as he nodded slightly. Of course he was scared. What if Rei's father might do something to him? But just like what Rei said, he just have to trust him.

"I wonder when will the time comes where you'll end up begging for me to stay with you. I'll never letting you go away, Kheiny." Rei declared and bit Khein's earlobe. Khein hissed but the psycho guy licked it immediately which made the rebel guy gasp.

"You freaking psycho! Let me go!" Khein hissed and pushed Rei away. Khein left the infirmary room as if he was having a high fever. His face was extremely blushing suddenly. He couldn't deny it, he was deeply falling inlove with Rei.
